Damn ! Where is the keychain ?

This key is a different style....?

Not a different style.  Just lacking the green GNW keychain.

The replica one is very different

If you are referring to the key from the Showtime pic, I don't recall the GN using skeleton keys.  Wasn't the key attached to the green key fob just a regular, everyday-lookin key?

I was just saying that the replica ones that were posted in the pic are different, old fashioned ones. Different to the one in the series.

Here is the funny part.. I'm not the only one that memory of this key change has happened to..

Someone posted about this very topic about a year ago..

http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/discuss/twin-peaks-part-5/the-key-holds-the-key/

I'm telling you.. the Cooper Paradox is a real thing!

HAHA!  Ah, the memories.  How innocent and naive we were.

I think I agree that it is a real thing!

Yeah, I think they are trying to make them look all mysterious and gothic which IMO defeats the whole purpose of them just being plain ole, ordinary keys..................

This is an interesting thread! I must admit I haven't read all of it yet because it's so much - not that I'm a lazy reader but I like to dive into the discussion, especially since I just finished watching The Return.

I don't know if these observations have been made before - if so, sorry to repeat them, as I said, I haven't had time to read through the whole thread.

I'm not even sure if this IS an observation but in one of the episodes featuring Mr. C I thought "Weeeell... that small thingy holding his hair together in the back... that looks an awful lot like Coop's small FBI badge that he wears on the lapel of his suit".

Also, Audrey seemed to be wearing a Black Lodge Ring. You don't see it clearly but in size and shape, it could be a Black Lodge Ring. I think it was Audrey. Speaking of Audrey, I'm convinced now that she's in some kind of dream or a state of mind that could be described as a dream. Proof: her clothing. It doesn't change throughout her scenes. It's always the black glittery dress with the red coat either worn or over her arm. This indicates to me that, for Audrey and Charlie, it's still the same evening while outside their world (whatever that may be), things move on. From then on, I paid close attention to the costumes of other characters. Tammy changes clothes frequently. So does Diane. At the same time, Norma and Shelly are always shown in their waitress clothes while the FBI agents wear suits and the Mitchum brothers' girls never wear anything but those awful pink dresses.

I think changing of clothes could be a hint of where we are in time resp. that Audrey is out of time - her staring in the mirror wearing a white gown pretty much proves (to me) that she's been imagining/dreaming the conversation with Charlie all along. When I first watched The Return, I didn't realise that Audrey never changed clothes, that the conversation almost definitely takes place during one evening. Also, I never bought that Audrey would marry Charlie, especially with her stressing that she'd rather be with Billy than with her husband. I LOVE the idea expressed on the first or second page of this thread that Charlie is just a part of Audrey that she doesn't like, that she resents and that she quarrels with. It just makes perfect sense to me.

Thanks for sharing! ?

The thingy holding back Mr. C's hair has been discussed at length and I'm not sure if they jury ever came with a final verdict on that one (like there are any answers or final anythings when it comes to this).

The clothes...ah yes the clothes. My favorite bit of this is how, yes, Diane changes clothes many times, but then in later Parts, you see her in an earlier outfit which may indeed be indication of time and place.

Or it might be that she didn't pack enough for the length of her stay. ?

I miss Charlie.  He was actually one of my favorite new characters.  Have you read the Final Dossier? There is possible reference to him there. But Charlie still remains a phantom to  me.

P.S. There is a lot to read and no one thinks you are lazy for not reading it all.  This has been going on for over a year now.

But do feel free to start new threads on topics.

I suspected that the thingy holding back Mr. C's hair has already been discussed 🙂

As for Diane: Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm with you on this one. I think that the clothes indicate time and space. I think Diane is too *uhm* classy (I'm at a loss for words here) to wear the same clothes that often.

No, I haven't read the Final Dossier yet; it's still on my reading list - really looking forward to it 🙂 Since my DVDs of seasons 1 and 2 have mysteriously broken (all are covered with a very thin film that prevents them from being played on our BluRay player), I need to replace them. As soon as I've managed to do that (need to earn some money first), I'll sit down and rewatch the whole series and the movie, read the books and probably come up with something. Or maybe not.

When I rewatched The Return, I realised how funny some parts were. There were scenes that had me laugh out loud. Even my husband, who's not a TP enthusiast and who's not into Lynch, laughed out loud at one of the Dougie/Janey-E scenes. Even without context, he thought it was hilarious. That's one thing I noticed when rewatching: The Return is, at least in parts, hilarious. Not all of it, of course, but some stuff really cracked me up.

Yeah, a lot of it is very funny, reminds me of an American pop culture take on Beckett or Ionesco, the theatre of the absurd thing, as do other scenes across Lynch's back catalogue.

That whole scene with Dougie in the family kitchen with the tie on his head and the face he pulls when he drinks the hot coffee ?

Also, I find the scene with Ike the Spike running around stabbing people hillarious for some reason - very inappropriate. It's not the stabbing parts themselves and the blood - all of which is very graphic - but the way he runs around, and then gets upset at his bent spike. It cracks me up!

There's an interview with the actor playing Charlie in the latest issue of Blue Rose magazine. He says he's got his take on what Charlie's about, but he refuses to spill the beans. It's a nice little interview actually.

I think I missed the conversations about Mr C's hair, which is just as well. I never thougt about it more than "Coop would never have a haircut like that. Bit silly, that haircut actually." ?

Brandy, do you remember what scenes feature Diane wearing the same outfit?  Is that a big ask?  I could go scour for myself, but even a vague recollection would help.  I never noticed a repeat ensemble.

I laughed hardest when Tom Sizemore had to throw out the poison coffee.  I like urinal guy, "That bad, huh?"

Didn't Cooper once 'got your nose' to Harry?  And he made a like a duck quack sound or the like.  Odd to do to a guy you've known for like 2 days.

That's the beauty of a Twin Peaks bromance ?

Showtime issued two different items last year :

- the green Northern Hotel keychain, exact replica to the one seen in The Return

- a promo NH keychain with and old key style with an USB drive at the tip. Look at the picture on the previous page, this old golden key (probably made with plastic) is connected to an USB plug on a computer.

Some observations after rewatching Part 7:

Gordon says to Diane: "This is extremely important, Diane, and it involves something that you know about, and that's enough said about that." But doesn't it turn out they don't know about the rape until later, when Diane tells them? What's Cole specifically referring to here?

Mr C tells Warden Murphy he knows about " Joe McCluskey." I know its been suggested on here that Mr Strawberry is the dog who's legs have gone walkies, but who is Joe and what is his relationship to Mr C and Murphy?

What exactly occurs when Andy is left waiting? Are we to assume Richard has killed the truck's owner, and this is why the door to the house is now shut and the owner hasn't turned up to meet Andy?

The roadhouse sweeper scene doesn't upset me because the track Green Onions has been one of my favourites for, hmm, at least 17 years or so now, so I just sort of block out the visuals there and enjoy the music. In fact I'm in a minority that gets upset when the telephone rings something actually happens haha
