That's neat.
Here's another new observation. Stop me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a picture of Eisenhower on the wall at the Las Vegas FBI office? And just why the hell would that be?
I posted it somewhere else:
Ok so lets get down to business, all of the theories presented are right in some ways and they are wrong in most ways. David Lynch is like a master craftsmen, cabinet maker...he builds this amazing piece of furniture but doesn't put a finish on it, because if he did, only the people who liked that 1 finish would buy it. Instead, because he is also a marketing genius who realizes that it would sell so much better if he didn't put a finish on it, he left it UNFINISHED. That way anyone who bought (or bought into) the cabinet could put the finish on it that THEY wanted instead. Some will be a light wood, some a dark wood, some red paint, some with multi colored drawers etc. His genius is that we are all still talking about the finish we put onto his cabinet...his downfall is that no one was able to buy a finished product and call it a LYNCH cabinet. This was his best parlor trick, convincing all of you to finish the ending and resolve the series to your liking. Some of us still find it haunting that it is an open ended question with too many answers, all of which can be made to fit.
Yet none of these answers are considered as his "finish."
Congrats on your recent collaboration with David Lynch, sorry you didn't get film credit or payment.
Jack
Just going through my first proper start-to-finish rewatch and watched part nine last night.
I'm sure the dates on the Jack Rabbit paper are October but when we see Bill Hastings' interview later, he signs and dates the picture of Major Briggs 20th September.
I don't know which thread had all the discussion about the Judy/ace of spades circular owl cave symbol, but this caught my eye at work today:
It's a (proposed-to-be) 17th century painting. I was walking down the hall, and this is the cover to one of my company's Shakespeare anthologies. That symbol we're now all obsessed with--an ink blot with two horns(??)--really is a Rorschach test. We could see so much in it. Someone brought up in the thread I can't now find how the FBI symbol is circular with two "horns" down below. Well! The US DHS symbol is vertically mirrored, with those two flag ends up on top!... I don't think that specifically is at all what Lynch had in mind; I'm just saying, we could see a lot in this Judy ink blot--and that's probably what Lynch wanted.
The thing that especially caught my eye about this painting of the globe within a foolscap is how Antarctica can appear to be smiling, Cheshire cat-style smiling--just like a certain Sarah Palmer when she showed us what's inside.
Either Twin Peaks itself is a giant Rorschach test and those of us who love it will always find things that seem tied closely to it, OR it's a supernatural holy entity that rules the earth. Think about that.
OMG! What an awesome find!I bet that's where they got the idea from. Bravo!
Thinking about it more, maybe Lynch really truly was inspired by a foolscap; it would make perfect sense to then put the Judy blot on a playing card--like this card is more evil than a joker. I think the Cheshire Cat smile is just total luck.... maybe I shouuld join Twitter, send this image @ Mark Frost's handle and see what happens.
Yes! Yes!Yes!
That's neat.

Hoover found President Dwight Eisenhower to be an ideological ally with an interest in expanding FBI surveillance. This led to increased FBI use of illegal microphones and wiretaps. The president looked the other way as the FBI carried out its sometimes questionable investigations
Hi Julie,Something that caught my attention when reading The Secret History of Twin Peaks was that when Jack Parsons was found after the explosion which killed him, one of his arms was missing. I've wondered if this was inspiration for the One-armed Man character ?
And Dougies left arm went numb.....
Among many others who somehow or another acquired anesthetized arms: Teresa Banks, Cooper, Pete Martell, an anonymous woman at the diner, Ronette, Laura and possibly Cole. =:-O
😉

Does the owl ring cause arm numbness?

Yes! Yes!Yes!
A hand-painted Rorschach test, long-nosed masquerade mask.. (google) 😉

OMG there's jumping man!!!!
The last episodes closing credits..... the electrical sound is gone from the Lynch/Frost logo!

His portrait is also in part 9. When Johnny Horne rams his head into the wall, he knocks down a pic of "Whitetail Falls" as well as a portrait of Ike (might be the pic).

Indeed a good find. I originally thought the ink blot with ears or horns looked like a silouhette of girl's opened mouth (while she was lying on her side) in part 8 with insect legs exiting or entering. Others I've read: moth-frog head, owl head, owl cave symbol, Mother/Experiment, etc. Rorschach . . . Yep
Something just popped into my head. In an early episode where Hawk gets Andy and Lucy into a room at the station, there is the discussion about the bunnies. Lucy says something like "is it about the bunnies ?". Hawk replies, "It's not about the bunnies !".
Well, later in Sarah Palmer's house, there are some rabbit ornaments sitting next to her TV.
Maybe it was about the bunnies after all. Lucy does seem to know more than she shows.

And where is the portal? Near Jack Rabbits!
Also in that scene you mentioned, Lucy says she ate one of the bunnies, but there are two missing.......
