Does anyone know how to listen to the sounds in reverse?
Could the sounds from the gramophone in episode 1 be in reverse?
I've always thought that I could hear an almost human voice in it. Maybe backwards talk?
Leland danced to a record...
Does anyone know how to play the sounds in reverse? I really think there could be something to it.
I used an audio program to do this, there was nothing different. I'll upload tonight when I get home.
I also sampled from the youtube clip of Laura opening her diary. Eventually I convinced myself that the record scratch probably did originate from that diary sound, but of course a gifted professional sound engineer did slightly better than my amateur free audio software goof around. I'm hesitant to share it - it really is mucky.
I went with the audio of the diary back to back with the backwards same audio, changed the equalizer a bit, added some filters. The timing is tricky, but again, I'm convinced that it's the correct source.

I'm keen as mustard to listen!

Laura would've been born in the 70's, so what's with the scene with the fireman and The golden orb with her face in it being sent down after trinity in 1945?
Also
The firemans house looks like it's from the 1920's or so.... depicted in black and white, music from that era, Dido dressed from that era, the electric devices look very old, 20's style house.....

Hmmm, Laura would have to be born in 1973, 1974 or 1975. Only a junior or senior can be prom king or queen at that time. I know, I lived it...NO ONE voted a freshman or sophomore as the Prom King or Queen, it just didn't happen. We are dealing with the magical realm of Twin Peaks however, so anything is possible.
I already addressed this issue of things being out of time in the 40's. Someone corrected me that the original date of the Nuclear testing in New Mexico was in 1945. Somehow the time ticked up to 1953 (8 years) to the point where Sarah lays down and ingest a frog moth thing. Sarah was a teenager in 1953, so she would have been in her 30's when she had Laura, which is perfectly plausible. This also explains why it took 8 years from the Trinity Project to the time Sarah ingested a frog moth. From my estimation, the golden orb that Senorita Dido sent to earth just waited to find the right person (or specifically the person who ingested the frog moth) to land on. You need to fight an evil, of course you fight it with a son or daughter who knows the evil, isn't this the epitome of greek tragedy?

I have a feeling that time works just a tad differently "behind the curtain." So the timing of the orb will likely not line up.
Fireman didn't watch the frogmoth scene. Just trinity and then made the Laura orb.
Yes, time jumps around. But it would've made more sense to send the orb at the correct time.
Dido kisses her and sends her love before it leaves. It's implied that she's a force of good to combat evil but this never happens....?
Maybe because of blue rose task force messing things up?

Perhaps there is no time (as we know it) where Dido and Fireman exist.
Or perhaps it is all back and forth (like parts 17&18).
Or perhaps they sent a different Laura orb back in the 40's/50's and the Laura we know is either not the Laura depicted in that scene or Laura is an eternal existence.
OR.... maybe they are so far in outer space that it took 30 years to get from where they were to Twin Peak...... ?
I thought about it being 30 years away. Could be.
Laura never was a force for good though......?

And she showed up when she needed to.
I'm still not convinced of that "good" bit. I tend to side with others who look at the Fireman not as a source of "good" but just as a source, neither good nor bad, maybe self-serving, perhaps neutral, who knows. Laura may have just been a source of Garmonbozia to attract and possibly "trap" BOB. It's so hard to tell.
Maybe things aren't so black and white as good and bad. Maybe they are all red.......
I think he is good. He gave Cooper hints to Laura's killer. But if so powerful, why let it happen in the first place ???

This is where things may be getting super-cosmic metaphysical and there really are no answers.....at least none that we would be able to conceptualize.
Or it's all trapped in Lynch's head, never to see the light of day.
