Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
I've noticed some stark contrast in Diane's demeanor and behavior that I never noticed before.
When she's in the morgue she lights up a cigarette and when told she can't smoke there, the tell the guy off. "Its a fucking morgue!" And she continues smoking.
But when she's in the detectives office, she asks if she's allowed to smoke and when told no, she pleads her case until he allows it.
One of these things is not like the other.
I still think a tweet is something only a bird does. And don't even get me started on just how insidious a thing like facebook really is!!!
Emails, now those blokes I can embrace. With a cuppa.
Rewatching Part 10 (because I am to do a write up of it).
Candie hits Rodney with remote. Next, cries inconsolably. Then, in the casino scene where she is spaced out or whatever. Band-aid on Rodney's cheek.
Question is how we explain this shift in Candie's behavior. This seems even starker to me than the bit about Diane smoking

Very good point. Hadn't thought about that.
Also, the amount of money Mr Jackpots won seems to vary from one episode to another. Here Rodney says $447,000. In an earlier Part I think it was said to be $425,000, and it is a different number again later, as I recall

I did take note of that but then I forgot when I got lost in some other detail.
What do we think this is about?
Asking if Dougie has been killed?
Asking if they've worked out that Dougie is a tulpa?
Or if they've worked out that Janey e and Diane are half sisters?
If they know that Coop is Dougie?
The generality of that one does not bother me at all

I remember thinking that when I watched it the first time. I was convinced there was something malevolent in her attitude and that when she was talking to Anthony she was giving him some ilicit information of one sort. I was very confused when Candie seemed to later revert to previous behaviours.
Having rewatched Part 10 yesterday, I'm not sure where I came up with that. Candie just seems zoned out, exhausted. Couldn't detect any malevolence.
Wait a moment.. I just realized the reason as to WHY Diane and Janey-E are estranged..
It's because Diane (that we saw up to that point) was a tulpa and someone who really knows here (a mother, a father, a brother, or a SISTER) would know that there is something off..
Therefore Tulpa Diane cut ties.
just a thought.

It's a good thought. Makes sense.
Part 13, 39 minutes in.
Bobby sits down with Big Ed and Norma and says "we found some stuff my dad left today."
The operative word here is TODAY! Many things have happened and several Parts/Episodes have gone by since Bobby, Truman and Hawk found the item that Major Briggs left behind. This includes getting his daughter out of jail after shooting a door, the diner getting shot at, a screaming woman and a deathly ill child in a car (remember all that). In otherwords, much has happened between finding the message from Briggs and then telling Norma and Ed about it.
Is this time inconsistency or alternate timeline?

I am wondering if the Double R is not out of time.
Take a look at the end of episode 7, when Bing is looking for Billy.
And after that, all the customers have changed.
The camera stays behind a man with a leather jacket joking with Heidi : Bobby Briggs ??
That makes perfect sense to me, why Jane and Diane are estranged. You would totally avoid interacting with someone that would suss out your deception in mere moments, or at least I would.

That could be. But if the RR is our anchor, then everything that goes on outside those doors is wacky-doodle out of order/time/sync.
Are we seeing a lack or order in time or glimpses of different timelines?
