Jude Law was great too in the Young Pope.

Tough choice.

Robert De Niro, "The Wizard of Lies"
Jude Law, "The Young Pope"
Kyle MacLachlan, "Twin Peaks"
Ewan McGregor, "Fargo"
Geoffrey Rush, "Genius"

But Twin Peaks isn't nominated in the "Best TV movie or limited series" :
“Big Little Lies” (HBO)
“Fargo” (FX)
“Feud: Bette and Joan” (FX)
“The Sinner” (USA)
“Top of the Lake: China Girl” (Sundance)

Other nominations :

Kyle played 3 roles so I think it is a no brainer, but then I am not always in sync with how Hollywood votes...even though I work this silly industry.

Ewan McGregor played 2 roles in Fargo "season 3".

"The Young Pope" was the best 2016 TV series for me (and was broadcasted 3 months after in the US, january 2017,  so that's why this series is in the 2018 Golden Globes nominations).

Hi Lucas,

Twin Peaks: the Return was much better than Feud: Bette and Joan!  Much better.  >:-(

We was robbed!!  (With apologies to Joe Jacobs and Max Schmeling.)

Congratulations to Mr. MacLachlan, though!  🙂

Fargo was amazing in its first season with Billy Bob...this season is NO COMPARISON so I can't see why it was even considered.

How on earth did Top of the Lake get nominated and not Twin Peaks.  The mind boggles.  Top of the lake: China Girl was rubbish from beginning to end.  Anyway how do you decide what is a limited series and a continuing series.  Fargo is a continuing series, Big Little Lies is returning for another series, Top of the Lake was a second series.  Twin Peaks could be classed as a limited series and Feud as they aren't supposedly going to continue.

Ewan McGregor was cool in Fargo #3.

Kyle was great in TPTR.

Jude Law was amazing in The Young Pope.

But....this is Hollywood.

Big Little Lies and The Handmaid's Tale are the TV winners of the ceremony.

No  contest for BLL (Laura Dern won the "Best performance by an actress in a supporting role in a series" in BLL).

It was impossible for me to watch more than 30 minutes of The Handmaid's Tale. Too anxiogenic.

I guess the members of the voting pool didn't have 18 hours to sift through Kyle and his performances.  Ewan did a fantastic job on a show that no one really cared about...

Great performances by both, only one will have life next year and the other will not.  Thus the nod.

I never finished the last season of Fargo.  Just kind of lost interest.......
