Ahhh!! It says the show expires 9/26. Is this true?? Do I then have to wait until December and the Blue Ray to watch any of it again? If this is true, it's a major bummer.
Figured they would do that to drive up the dvd/bluray sales
Don't know, but for what it's worth, I subscribe to Showtime through Amazon and I don't see any expiration date there.
If it does expire, I'm canceling my monthly subscription—not to "punish" them or anything, but just because rewatching TPTR is the only reason I need Showtime right now. Seems silly to take the episodes down when you think about it that way. Just leave them up, and you can keep collecting $9 a month from people like me, at least until we finally get tired of rewatching.
I thought that might happen. I have all 18 episodes saved on my DVR.
OK. I'm getting Showtime through my old-school cable company and using Showtime Anytime app. If it leaves, I'll cancel that and do Hulu Showtime. Thanks folks!
.... This week, I couldn't get old episodes to play on my DVR! Kept getting error messages. Had to use Roku app. Just seems kinda crazy that they would cancel it in September when the DVD doesn't come out till December. Oh well.
I get Showtime through PS Vue. If they do drop TPTR, cancelled it will be. Glad I began a rewatch last night and will finish Saturday.
I asked Showtime about this because I'm behind and they said it should be okay... fingers crossed
There was something strange going on with the way Twin Peaks: The Return was listed on Showtime. I was never able to find it by doing a search on my cable system. It only ever showed seasons 1 & 2. Even though I set up a recording event for season 3, it never scheduled a recording. I had to manually record each episode. I have never had that problem with any other show. I just chalked it up to a mystery.
It had stated for a while now that it was leaving on 9/26, but I logged in tonight and it has the episode expiration dates as 01/02/2018! I took a screenshot of Ep. 1 and Ep 18 from the Showtime Anywhere App. Looks like we'll still have access while we read The Final Dossier!!!
Thanks Mark and Jonathan!!!! Phew! I'm sure I'll still get the blue rays (in case there's anyway of financially nudging them toward another miniseries or movie), but for the next couple months, this is a big relief. Why? Why?? I don't know why! I just love watching Dougie filling out those case files and want to watch it over and over and over again.

I have the Chantal and Hutch stake out scenes on an eternal-Sarah-Palmer-style loop!
With every Grace Zabriskie scene randomly thrown in for good measure.

That's got me thinkin... What would even be the point of another season if Hutch and Chantal are dead? They were truly the center of the TP universe.
...Seriously though, since watching the finale a week ago, so many of those classic scenes/characters have been off mind, as though erased. I'm guessing Lynch would be pleased with his work to know it had such an effect. In any case, I hope some video editors out there put together all-Dougie and all-Chantal story lines for us to watch.
