Not really a prediction more of a wish but i hope cooper wakes up this episode. Would like to have his voice of reason and smarts for the back half of the series.

I very much doubt that's going to happen until much later in the series. Since it's already been stated the core of the show is about his return, having him come to his senses halfway through would be like discovering who killed Laura halfway thro...
oh wait.
Seriously, though, if Coop was to wake up now, the main theme of the show no longer exists.
It will be almost funny if, after having experienced 8, 9 ends up being "too normal" and we feel out of sorts.....

Would really love another curveball, 1800s early experiences of the Lodge by early explorers of the region. A mini-story outlining their battle with the forces of good and evil. Never going to happen though, just my fan-service wishlist.
Episode is named 'this is the chair', maybe a reference to the guy sitting watching the glassbox, which was further discussed in relation to Hastings case and the 'congressman's dilemma' by Cole et al in Philadelphia when they were examining their cases. 'this is the chair' as in this is the chair you are in to watch what comes back from the infinite's(red room, lodges, etc.) manifestations in the finite(a result of infinite affirmations at the roadhouse, RR diner, etc. which are shown in manifestations in social behavior, what community, law, etc. are believed in and followed, expectations of reality, etc.). Also related to authority: mother/experiment killing kids, related to white lodge(sleeping giant is on one side bob and other side the white surface which covers their crimes, both appearances of the same thing(arm and giant, one and the same), both dream of Laura, ruled by Laura/mother). White lodge: bookhouse boys and cooper telling bernard, weve got you tied up in a chair, your mixed up in a wide range of felonies, etc...so what investments people have had in the show so far, dreams that ignore the rotten core of society and how they participate in it, are going to be tested and going to see how much of the 'other side' they are involved in. Got you tied up in a chair, like the kid killed by mother was locked in that surveilance room by the billionaire, this is the chair, the one your locked in by black-whtie authority backed by mother-laura....
No development related to the congressmen's dilemma yet, and should be more on that soon. The clues displayed by Cole in Philadelphia when examining the 'glass box cases' here link to the dynamics of James/Red related to Shelly/Friend at the roadhouse during the blue song at the end of episode 2. Looks like it could be real trouble for James here, who doesnt want to break 'national security', but go on dreaming the world is guaranteeing him his old twin peaks, good laura, etc......another motorcycle accident, James is in the wrong chair......

Or spits it out and switches to chewing tobacco?
Or dip?
Saw a lot of guys doing that in OKC, about 15 years ago. I was a smoker at the time, but I still say dip is a more disgusting habit.
We are going to see Linda of course.
O.T. : the thirst is real!
