Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
On William Hastings' blog there are wav recordings (near bottom of page)

I wonder if they're going to match up with something? On the vortex one, there seems to be a shout at 19s.
The electrical interference 2 sounds like Neil Young, but I don't think that's relevant! 😉
I have run them through Spek to see if there are images in them.
They look like this
no images but they all have a load sonic density in the bass and it appears to be near the edge of the hearing range. I don't have a good pitch shifter to see if there is something there working on that later.
They vortex is used in episode 8 during the a bomb explosion. The wav seem to come from that episode in general looking to identify where.
Notice the orange in the low frequencies in wav2 and the votes I am trying to get a pitch shifter to through that more into the center of the hearing range. Also a better graph that lets me know how close to 60 hz that orange is.
In vortex, I hear that voice pretty clearly as saying "help".
I have been working on isolating elements, with my basic-level audio skills. I didn't get anything from the first one but I got some vague voices from the other two (have low expectations):

So if anyone with more expert knowledge can do better, then I'd be very interested to know what they came up with and how.
But... I think the most intriguing thing to come from this is that the Vortex one seems just clear enough to make out the voice of the Woodsman (particularly towards the end), which is intriguing because on the original post ( http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/news/the-search-for-the-zone/ ) there was someone called 'The Man Who Knew Too Much' who posted a comment (along with a little poem) saying what's hidden in all 3 files and claimed Vortex is the Woodsman's voice saying “This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but with a whimper.” Which is pretty chilling. I asked him about it, but no response yet.

This is the way the world ends, etc. is a T S Eliot quote from the poem The Hollow Men, which incidentally Marlon Brando quotes in Apocalypse Now.
Guys, this way madness lies. Just enjoy the ride and don't look too deeply.

This image looks very close to fluctuating colors('color waves') being projected onto the top of the casino during one of the earlier episodes in one of those 'parking lot' shots from outside the casino showing the whole building, though I cannot remember which episode(I remember this because I was trying to locate the use of colors at the time)....
Also, that quote of the woodsmen describing the apocalypse as a whimper would definitely fit with some of the meaning I took out of the end of episode 7 and all of 8, that the apocalypse is here and now, always here as a default that must be dealt with(torn out of nature and trying to find a way to order the situation), doing nothing just leads to the sleepwalking, repetition without solving the problems, being trapped in a vortex for 25 years, and apocalypse is just this 'sleepwalking' which brings you closer to disaster/chaos etc.

Alright, there are bars of color going horizontal-vertical on the side of the silver mustang casino at the very beginning of episode 4, right after the end of that golden country song at the roadhouse. Not sure if its related, but does look somewhat similar to the picture above
Did anyone think that in the first or second wav file that it sounded like a plane heading over or the sound from within a plane if it is about to crash. Maybe just me but Cole and crew have spent a lot of time flying about ..... hmmmmm interesting , let's hope there's not a crash coming in future episodes??
