I had an couple of questions after reading some great posts about the Woodsman's poem hypnotizing the radio listeners and the egg hatch.

1. We see the super creepy "amphimoth" enter the young girls mouth as the episode ends, but why are we assuming she is the only invasion victim?  The mother hurled numerous egg type objects from her mouth. There had to be eggs every where. Presumably many people were listening to the radio that night even though we see just a few and would be hypnotized.... unless they had hearing loss (like Gordon Cole) then they wouldhave just witnessed an invasion if others nearby were listening.

2. Any number of our TP favorites or their family members could have been visiting Arizona as many have posted.  Again why are we assuming this girl is the only one? Couldn't the Woodsman have just gone directly to the girl if she is the only one?

3. That hatchling looked alien-I suspect we might have Project Blue Book or Blue Rose connection

Any thoughts?

On the subject of the poem, I think "Drink deep and descent" would be better. Where's Harriet Hayward when you need her?

Interesting point. Judging by what's on the walls in Gordon's FBI office and his age, he could well have been there as a child/teen. Probably not as the boy we saw, unless he lost his hearing exactly that night. But either way, he may have witnessed that strage radio hypnosis without being affected.

Drink full and descend sounds better to me.  More of a classical feel to it, with "full" having many shades of meaning within the context of drinking.

The thing about language, at least English, is that we have at least three words for everything, with each one giving subtleties of meaning distinct from the others.
