So were we witnessing the creation of a new Laura or the original? If it was the original, then why was the Giant old?  I ask this realizing the whole "is it future or is it past?" angle that has already been introduced.

She's my cousin but doesn't she look almost exactly like Laura Palmer?

(Just throwing that into the mix).

Does that make The Arm = Maddie Ferguson?

😛

But isn't all of that happening as a result of BOB being 'extracted' from Mr. C. by way of charcoal colored hobos dancing? (I can't believe I actually wrote that sente-- oh, wait, yes. Yes, I can).

Also, how can we pinpoint an event on a timeline is time is fragmented, non-linear and coexistent (or, you know, "non-exist-ent-!!!")?

I think the spirits aging is just a technicality of the actors aging, there's no way around it in the show, so they're just shown aged.

Because this episode seems so specific about 40's and 50's I think it must be the original Laura.  I think showing a scene in black and white is Lynch's way of likening it to the way film and TV was in 40's and 50's.  He hasn't used black and white many times.

Yup! I saw the whole thing about BOB's orb being in there and requiring action from the part of ?????? and his female ally as a response to Mr. C losing BOB too.
