Was is "Drink full and descend" or "Drink full and ascend"?  I couldn't tell.  He slurred the "d" from "and" into the last word, making it unclear.

I checked the captions. He says "descend."

Yes, it's "descend", I think (though it's easy to hear either).  It also makes a little more sense, as in draining a well to allow for a descent.  An eerie way to mesmerise a population so the bug-creature can safely enter a host.

Okay, here's a thought:  The woodsman poet looks like Abraham Lincoln (the actor is a Lincoln impersonator) who puts the girl to sleep.  Earlier the girl found a penny "head side up" and we see a shot of the coin (Lincoln).  Not sure if there is a connection, but that penny scene had to happen for a reason.

I wonder if the penny is related to Hawk's nickel. Or the dime from episode 6.

Waiting for the quarter.

This is the water.

And this is the well.

Drink full and descend.

The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within.

perhaps:
water: garmonbozia from being killed

well: humans

descend: the portal is open, come feed on all the garmonbozia

This makes total sense to me.

Hmmm. Waiting for the quarter as in the last of the four pages. There's still one missing.

Has anyone else seen the electric storm close to the explosion?

Well, yes.  It's not exactly hidden.

I'm sorry I was not observant enough. I will try to be more competent next time, but you should know that there was dedication and affection in that comment

Pieter Dom - You had were using this poem as your tag line BEFORE episode 8 was shown - how come?

Very interesting ideas on this forum.

I think that the charcoal man was reciting the poem to allow the (mystery) young girl to pass out/become hypnotised, so the roach-frog could 'get in'. Therefore in essence it was all about getting her to be a host. I find suggestions that the creature could be Laura to be highly unlikely.
