MrC will become Bob-less and will turn vegetative...then when Janey-E finds him he will become the new Dougie and she is going to beat him for disappearing again....well deserved! OR- better ask Lynch.

Found the section I mentioned earlier, regarding the return of Dale Cooper to Twin Peaks:

I think the posssibility that Janey-e and Sonny Jim are not "real" is a distinct one.  Sonny Jim in particular. Not so much his blinking. His near-total silence, his thumbs-up, the way he seemed to "switch off" in the car, causing Dougie's tears, just makes me think he is not "real" (kinds makes me want to cry as well)...

Again, I'm compelled to mention my son.  He's 8 and has autism.  Not the type of withdrawn autism most people think of, rather the other end of the scale, possibly Asperger's, although he's too young to be sure about that.  He does, however, seem to switch off from time to time, and even when he's not like that, sometimes he won't speak at all.  Maybe Sonny Jim is the same.

If you haven't seen the leaked photo of a scene that has not happened in the show yet, it is on the TMZ web site.  Warning: this may be a spoiler for people so only look at it if you don't mind what it could possible suggest. If you do look at the photo, it will defintely eliminate some of those possibilities of the fate of dale/dougie

You have a link?  That site is a mess and searching for Twin Peaks returns hundreds of results.

Would that be the...  petrified scene??

I'm not buying any Janey-E and Sonny Jim are manufactured staff.  In my perception they are real world people, and, yes, the only family Dale Cooper has. Irony is, of course, they are not really HIS family, yet he had great luck to have them around. Janey E is in fact tough dame and, let's be honest, without her our Coop would be already dead for some dull reasons like hunger, thirst and life on the streets and we already have seen the proofs(!) that he's got warm feelings about them even in his "sleepy" state. The tear in his eyes when looking at HIS son, their great non verbal communication (BTW I think SJ not speaks much only when with his father cause he just knows that they cannot have the conversation now) and most of all my personal favourite: when being attacked and his instinct kicking in, the first thing he does is pushing away his wife to protect her!

So, yes, IF he will ever get his happy ending, and damn, he deserves it, he will stay with "his" family. Not only it is not in his style to leave behind people who love him, who rely on him and whom he owes his life, but that would be real bitter sweet solution of his strange fate. He lost 25(!) years of his life, his career, good name, reputation but also the possibility to find love and start the family, yet he does have the latter, just not the one we would like to think about. No chance at this moment for any romantic highs, any Audreys, Annies, you name it. He needs to accept life as it is now.

I'm sorry for this long and boring scribble...:) I am just the weirdo who really loves the Dougie plot and really enjoy watching and supporting them.

Here you go, though be advised, the link contains potential spoilers:

Yes! I saw it some loooong months ago. And still nobody can figure out what's going on:) I wouldn't be surprised if that's some finale scene. Plus, this is only the set material,we didn't see the final outcome so we're not sure if this isn't some dreamy sequence? On the other hand Laura's (?) wardrobe seems ordinary contrairy to Lodge's elegant and evening outfits...

A yrev very crazy idea just came to my mind regarding the finale (consider it as a joke?). Both Coopers will stay and both will be good... One in Vegas with the family and the other being this one we actually just saw: without Bob but with memory and remorses doing something with Laura in Twin Peaks to recuperate his evil actions.

I'm being just silly, craving for more Twin Peaks!

I think we will not get a happy ending. It may be clear but it will not be evil is defeated. It will be we unleashed this into the world and it will not be going away.

I can see how "[t]he core of it is Agent Cooper's odyssey back to Twin Peaks", even from what we've seen so far.

I don't think this necessarily means it'll be the last minute of the last scene in which Special Agent Dale Cooper will return.  I just can't see a scenario where someone else kills his doppelganger and he magically gets his memories/personality back.  It's been a long, slow slog but slowly (yrev, very slowly) Dale is returning.  I think this'll be the path that will be pursued.

I'm going to say we'll have 2 (3 if we are lucky!) episodes where Dale is (or nearly is) 100% Special Agent Dale Cooper.

Posters are right though that Dougie's family need some kind of resolution rather than just being abandoned, SA Coop is the ultimate good guy, there's no way he'd do that.

What if Dale has already woken up and he's just pretending to still be a vegetable? I'm not saying it's all been an act from the beginning, but possibly he woke up at some point during all this but has kept quiet.

The moment he woke up could have been when he drank that coffee at the breakfast table and said "Hi" in that weird way. He might have suddenly thought, "Shit, what the hell am I doing here?" and then decided to keep playing along while he pondered over how to get out of that situation.

I agree with much of this.

Not sure we'll have an almost back Coop; I can't see how that would play out, unless he's sometimes functional then sometimes back to the meandering Mr Jackpots.

I posted in another thread that it would be in character for him to step up and assume the role of husband and father, maybe telling Janey-E a little about it but largely keeping Sonny Jim in the dark.  Maybe he'd also retire from the Bureau, once he completes his debriefing, files the paperwork, then retire to Twin Peaks with a happy family.

I'm thinking of the deliberately cheesy end to Blue Velvet, complete with really badly done animatronic bird.
