In case you don't know, Peter Deming is the series' DoP.

In a recent interview Kyle MacLachan gave he said that Lynch has worked on something special for one of the characters, and that this will appear in the next episode. Also, he compare it with Lynch handling the design of that flying ship, where Cooper saw Garland Briggs head.

The full interview is here https://meduza.io/feature/2017/06/22/glavnaya-zagadka-novogo-tvin-piksa-kto-takoy-dagi , but it's in Russian.

Well, David ... yes, he was busy with different things if he wanted to add something to the scene, usually it was some kind of design element. He could spend a lot of time on this. He did something. I can not tell, because it will just be in the next episode. But he worked on something for one of the characters. And for a few days no one knew what he was doing - until finally he gave up and told what it was and what it was for. And we then thought: "Ah, well, now it's clear." Also, I think it was he who came up with the shape of a ship that is on top of a glass box hovering in space.

The comments are hilarious.

I mean, they starred in the damn thing, and still have completely no idea about what's going on. Some Government Secrecy level.

Ship on top of a glass box hovering in space?  Is that what it was where Cooper met the eyeless woman and Ronnette lookalike?  Wait, but where's the glass box?

Amy Shiels and Sky Ferreria responded quickly. Amy keeps posting candy emojis with her comments—her character name is Candy. Also, in another article, Sky stated that she's not simply singing, that she has a tangible part.

Thanks for sharing this, Pieter.

I would say that's an accurate statement. Not even Inland Empire was this surreal.

Like the first few episodes, this will have the people wanting a mainstream linear story with things spelled out for them upset and ranting "this isn't Twin Peaks."

That was beautiful-left me in a state of wonder for several minutes....it was worth it just for that. I think we just saw the "creation myth" behind the whole TP epic.

Kubrick was a fan of Eraserhead, and in this ep. we got a kind of hommage to 2001.

Likewise. When the part proper got going (post-shooting), I occasionally thought, "Man, I hope we get to that conversation between Diane and Gordon soon, but...goddammit, that can wait. This is on another level entirely." And when the credits started rolling I realized my jaw had dropped and I couldn't remember when. One of the most incredible hours of TV I've seen in a very long time.

Episode 8 was like no other tp episode.

Hopefully it's a one and done type episode.
