Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
I openly accept any "you just don't get lynch" replies, as long as there's some sort of explanation of what I just watched. I prefer actual facts, bit I'm open to hearing theories after that episode.
Something both wonderful and strange;)
The genesis of BOB?
The genesis of BOB?
That's one thing I got from it actually.
But the rest, no idea.
Hopefully some posters here figured stuff out and can share.
I think Mr. C lost Bob. Bob is back in the Lodge.
Here's my interpretation (besides the obvious "Lynch is just weird"). The first atomic test in 1945 was so violent/evil that it either opened a door to another world (the Black Lodge), or it created these evil creatures, including BOB. What we witnessed was BOB's ascension to earth (I think he was the bug that took over the girl). The giant witnessed this from some kind of lighthouse (I guess), and created some kind of opposing force (an angel/Laura?) and sent it to Twin Peaks. Maybe this was the creation of the White Lodge? The hobos are BOB's minions. Or maybe Lynch is just weird, and none of it meant anything.
the genesis of bob as well as the genesis of a parallel force for good methinks...
So like Charcoal Man was previous phase in evolution of Bob?
Evil came with the atomic bomb?

This may sound dumb, but you put into words what I took from it but was at a loss of how to say it.
And the fact you may be dead on in your last sentence is exactly what I felt. Lol.
It's weird. It looks like the charcole people are somehow a supporting force for bob and help him along his way.
My mind is f*cked. All I can suggest is this.. From the ideas brought forth in The Secret History Of Twin Peaks's esoteric references, nuclear tests and such pursuits were tied in with occult rituals. Such rituals intended to rip open the fabric of reality itself and make contact with.. other intelligences.
It's interesting we always seem to see the "demons," but never the "magicians" who seek to bring them forth for their unknown purposes.
I believe in this episode we see the activation of activities of these demons, spirits, aliens, WHATEVER, into our modern world.
"Mama" certainly seems to be the entity from the glass box in the early episodes of this season. She seems to give birth or bring forth evil into our world, specifically Bob.
I cannot begin to comprehend what The Giant or his rotund female companion were doing or the significance of Laura in that golden globe..
The grimy bearded men who "healed" Evil Cooper- no idea. Although they seem like.. an endless LEGION of demons?
The scenes of "Got a Light" demon ("I am the water I am the well") and the alien creature crawling into the throats of that girl are among the most horrifying and beautiful images I've seen on film. But I have no interpretation.
What?
Explain everything you got from that episode, por favor.
