I think the answer to the strange moth creature and the mystery of the Experiment lies in The Owls. They are not what they seem.

8 hours of screen time and only one Owl....no, I'm not counting the orange cookie jar. 

I assume the only owl we've seen so far is the one that flies over Dougie as he and his chauffeur await Janey's arrival?

Not Dougie, Coop. People in Vegas THINK he is Dougie. And Cooper noticed the owl.

I know many are saying the Giant's place is the White Lodge.  It's just that there was the description that the place is idyllic and related to nature.  So I dunno....

My belief is that one can't truly separate the lodges. They are yin and yang, heads and tails of the same coin, opposite banks of the same river. Therefore any scene or person shown in Black & White is of the Lodges, plural - quite literally Black AND White. The color Red is an indicator of the waiting room of the Lodges, residing closer to our world, and neither black nor white. I don't believe we've been shown the inside of either lodge.
