Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
Well, ever since I read that Sonny Jim blinked backwards, and looked it up, I have noticed two more places where this happens. There are perhaps more, but I noticed them yesterday and just now when I watched episode 9.
Yesterday, I was watching the top film from this link http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/memes/gordon-cole-reacts-to-twin-peaks-part-8/
and both Gordon and Albert are moving backwards right? Even more obvious than that was in episode 9, when they are at Bobby's mother. I was looking at Hawk, and he was moving/blinking backwards. We don't really know why yet do we? Yes, they moved like that in the lodge/waiting room, but I wonder if we will ever get an explanation for these scenes...
I watched it twice and I don't see them moving backwards. The youtube clip is a direct cut from an episode and then edited to make it seem like they're reacting to different things: i.e. it's a meme.
As for Hawk blinking backwards: I didn't see it. I rewatched the scene and it doesn't appear out of the ordinary at all. I'm not sure why you're objectively claiming that's what is occurring when viewing experiences are subjective to the individual that is having them?
The guy who edited that thing just reversed the shot with Cole and Albert looking at each other to prolong the video a little bit. There's no such thing in the original scene.

I'm sorry, I just thought it was extremely obvious. I will never speak like that again, but I won't edit the post cause it might be a weird read then for others.

Ah, OK. Thanks for that detail. =)
I'm sorry that I said it WAS like that with Hawk. I should've said that I THINK it's like that. I'm usually pretty careful with my words, but this one slipped by. Anyway, I wasn't sure about the Sonny Jim thing, until I watched a video where they played it in reverse.
Perhaps this one will have a reverse version as well in time, and we can all get a better feel. Again, sorry for the wording.
I was rewatching everything this weekend and did think i saw some strange backwards blinking from Otis in Episode 1. "The world of truckdrivers" scene? Anyone confirm? Maybe its irrelevant.
Sometimes you can be so "ready" and expectant to "see" things, that you see things even when they aren't there.
Yes, It's true that you can look to close at things, and I won't know for sure what I believe until I can see a video in reverse. It just felt wrong. And I immediately looked again, and I feel pretty certain. But then again, I'm often wrong so. lol

As a side note, I definitely feel myself like certain scenes are shot in reverse, even if it is a single take in a bigger scene. There is definitely some oddball cinematography being conducted, there is a unique style to the presentation of the show, and I think the fact we are all searching for clues and puzzle pieces means that we will see a lot of what isn't there, but I have a feeling some of the stuff we see is real. I for one am convinced that Sonny Jim's eye closes backwards, the movement seems unnatural. Etc etc.
I must confess that I don't know what "backward blinking" looks like. I tried to find where Sonny Jim does this. What episode?

I can't remember the episode the post referenced, I just looked at the time. The blink sort of started with eyes closed, then shot up and back down, it looked very similar to the "wink" that Laura gives Coop in the lodge, but with blinking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL57-9171pk Take a look at 20 seconds in, you can distinguish how unnatural the backward wink appears as compared to a normal wink. Same applies to blinking.
Episode 4 I think when Janey-E is trying to get Dougie into the car. Personally I don't think it's a backwards blink but I'm open to it being so.
It's very difficult this, and everyone has a point. But sometimes it just feel wrong. The Hawk thing felt wrong to me, but you never know. And about Sonny Jim, that scene went really fast, and I felt nothing wrong there. Later I saw these two videos, and one of them feels more "correct than the other. To me that is.
The first one is how it was aired:
aired blink
And this one is reversed:
reversed blink
We may feel different here, but when I see the one in reverse, that feels like how you would look. But if I hadn't seen that one, I would have written it off as nonsense lol. So I totally understand if I'm written off as well. =)
Otis isn't blinking backwards in the first scene with Mr C, he's just blinking in a weird way.
If you want real backwards stuff, why hasn't anyone mentioned the reversed registration code on the plane's engine?
