Probably I could be wrong but I hope it will be about Phylis... Anybody remember her? 🙂 I wait for the return of Hastings plot and I think the long hiatus was made in some puropse- so many things happened that it's easy to almost forget about them and they seem important.
They probably would've found out that the man's body found with the librarian's severed head belongs to Major Briggs after all. The Pentagon is sending an investigator to check out the mystery of Briggs' fingerprints being sighted back in Episode 5.
I bet she'll meet up with Gordon, Albert (and possibly Diane) this week and they determine the body belongs to Briggs, Sr (and puzzled on why it was only found now after he had disappeared for 25 years)
Major Briggs has been trapped in the Black Lodge, until his body was released, headless. The head had a cogent suggestion for Coop a few episodes back
I think the body is Major Garland's doppelganger, and he's lack of the head is due to the same thing that happened to the original Dougie Jones (remember when his head turns into black smoke, and a golden ball comes out of it). He was manufactured about 20 years ago, thats why the prints show an age that doesn't fit with Garland's (the original one, who should be around 70). I'm sure Mr C's prints would also show a different age, instead of Dale's.
What if the Laura Palmer that was found dead and wrapped in plastic is a doppelganger? Leland told Dale at the beginning to find her... Maybe there's another Laura out there. Maybe the real one, or an evil one, or a "Dougie Jones-style" one.
There are a lot of doppelgangers in this season, manufactered for a reason. The reason I believe in this is because of the main theme of Twin Peaks, the duality, also a recurrent theme on the rest of David Lynch's filmography.
But if the body belongs to Briggs's doppelganger then why weren't the fingerprints backward? Evil Dale's fingerprints should have been backward, but it was said someone must have tried to line them up to original Dale's fingerprints. So if it was Briggs's doppelganger then the prints would have been backward and not shown up in the database. Right?
Maybe they haven't find out. Someone would need to look closer to notice it.
I think it is Dougies original body. The timing of 5-6 days sounds about right as Dougies switch. The age of 46-49 ? How old is Dougie/Dale?
Hey as soon as I saw that headless body in episode 3 or 4 I thought -Dougie!? So I'm sticking with that idea... When dougie was in the blck lodge his head turned into a gold marble and remained in the lodge and his body turned into something black and then poofed.
Yes, I think Coop Bob used Major Briggs body to create Dougie. He was flesh and blood human being despite being manufactured so he coudn't be made just from thin air. Plus Dougie is a bit chubby just like Major and unlike both Coopers.
How it was done - I have no idea.
So whence does mr c/Bob get these powers, to create new people? I don't recall seeing that in this series. before now. Also, where was Mr C driving to that day, and did he know how this was likely to play out? He holds back the vomit while he resists the move through the red curtains, at the same time that Coop lands on earth and Dougie departs from it, goes through the curtains, talks to Mike and dissolves into black puff.. Who were the 2 people Mr C talked about that day, when he said he needed these 2 to be at the same place, at the same time? I must be missing a lot, even though I watch and rewatch.
I wish I could answer that...;) Well I think Bob doesn't have superpowers per se but he isn't the only Lodge spirit, probably not in the highest rank. But being in smart, wise, cleaver agent Cooper's body and mind, he was able to do something superior to the nature?
More food for thought: Briggs had the "Lodge" tattoo on his neck....remove the head and there's no evidence of his connection to the lodges.....who would do that?

Then again, Log Lady had one on her leg and in season 3 we don't see her legs

Ouch....guess we'd better check the dog leg for tattoos as well!
