Hello,

surely these connections have been made many times, so please pardon if all mentioned before. I thought yesterday "Douglas Fir" is a nice reference point for Dougie. Person / Doppleganger as Ghost of Tree.

Sparkwood --> Fire --> Ghostwood

wood conducts, is conduit, ignites

Soot People --> Tree Ghosts --> Ghosts of Trees --> Logs as ghosts of people --> Packard Sawmill

Tree fractal - neurons - Arm as ghost-conduit

All things sentient

All things animate

All things interchangeable

Metal Water Wood Rocks People

Cole - coal

Cooper - a coppersmith (conducts electricity)

Jade, Emerald

Dougie / Douglas Firs

These connections that you make really highlight the spiritual and natural themes that underlie the show's plot lines.

A cooper is someone who makes barrels, though. The "Hooper" was the one who fitted the barrels with the metal rings that bound them together.

I forgot about Jade/Emerald. Wonder if we'll get an "Emerald" sometime this season? In "Invitation to Love," which daughter did Jared love, Jade or Emerald?

Ah, so it is! Thank you for the correction. I love that still it keeps with the theme.
