Looking closely at the teaser trailers, a bad thought struck me....what if BadCoop is released from Yankton and is returned to duty as FBI agent?!!...the downturned mouth was what got me

Another shot from the teaser trailer showing footage of Cooper we haven't seen yet in parts 1-5......we could be in for a rough and very dark ride, and lose some of our favorite "good guys" in the process. Part of me hopes this is too dark even for Lynch....it would drastically alter the story arc and set-up a "final conflict" between the two Coopers.....

That's a really intriguing thought. Seems like Gordon is on to him, though (possibly Tammy as well), so hopefully they can keep him from doing too much damage.

+1 for your theory.

Also, his face looks unusually pale.

In one of the first scenes of Episode 1 (about 4:00), also good Cooper had the same downturned mouth...

I hope I'm wrong too...it would really disrupt the story arc having Cole/Albert/Tammy chasing an FBI imposter all over the country...yikes

I do like the Coop v Coop final showdown theory though.  Only Our Special Agent can defeat evil Coop

He's also wearing his FBI pin in that second teaser pic. Or at least it appears that way.

Sure is....and that damned pin disappears and reappears on his suit more times than I can count in Parts 1-6....sigh. An imposter could also buy a FBI lapel pin on Bay for about $6....damned rabbit holes!

I'm pretty sure this scene is shown on the purple room sequence. This is "good"Coop.

I hope not. But I guess that VISUALLY it would be the best, and the same as the 2nd season ending, having both Coops dressed in FBI uniform for the final showdown

It's a nice idea, but given that Mr MacLachlan is pushing 60 years old (yes, really) I'd say that his face is just... y'know... that of a man of a certain age.

It's true... wanted to say that but wasn't sure if it's appropriate... However this driving shot- it surely makes me think about evil Cooper, even before the Return premiere. I think it's not about the mouth but the eyes! They do the job.

BTW how is it possible that Mr Kyle looks better now than 25+ years ago? In old TP he was too boyish and now in his age he looks younger than he is, still skinny and fit, with all his hair:), good haircut, etc. Very handsome. It was so nice to see him again in his proper black suit instead of Dougie's ridicoulous outfit.
