#6 pole in FWWM could be the power line to the Chalfont's space. ( Tremonds in tv show ).
Assumption of rudeness does not mean it was intended.
Electric Poles "6" can be anywhere.
Just came across this one on a walk today, in Switzerland.
No crackling electricity sound, though 😉

Lack of intention does not excuse nor does it nullify rude behavior.
So what do you think the pole is all about?
When I first saw FWWM I presumed Special Agent Desmond was killed by Bob/Leyland at Fat Trout.
But now I think it was Dopple Jeffries who killed him and he was staying in the caravan/trailer.
When David Bowie projected himself into FBI HQ and subsequently dissapeared it was reminiscent of the electrical type transferrence when Dale came into our world, initally through the cigarette lighter in Dopple Coops car but ultimately via the wall socket at Rancho Rosa replacing Dougie.
Maybe something similar happened in FWWM but because the Good Jeffries (David Bowie) didn't have any manafactured body to swap into e.g. Dougie Jones, he could only project himself temporarily into our world.
This might suggest Dopple Jeffries also found a way of avoiding returning to the Black Lodge, albeit a different technique used by Bob.
Just a reminder of the pole #6
I believe it is not in Portland/Oregon
Cole and Desmond just met in Portland, then he went to
Deer Meadow which is in Washington and maybe near Twin Peaks.

Come on man, it is the same one in FWWN and TPTR
Nice find though 😉
I guess the pole is associated with the room above, as in the all important FWWM room scene the pole segues into the room interior shot and the dialogue. So the pole may indicate the actual location of the store itself. The scene in 3 season is also located at the crossroads. Check the wiki entry on the mythology of crossroad.
The poles and electricity in general in the show means that there's spirits at work.

Wow great find
this makes so much sense if it's true.....thanks alex well done!!!
It's not a simple electric pole...It's the solar stargate.
It also rapresents the hermetic concept: "As above so belowe"
This thread is so old but it makes me think of the other theories being tossed around currently.
Is it at all possible that in one timeline Deer Meadow is in Southern Washington/Northern Oregon, and in another timeline, it is in Northeastern Washington, tied together only by the #6 pole?
There is also the same pole in front of Carrie Page home in Odessa.
A third timeline, the one corrupted by Cooper ?
And why the Fireman shows this pole in Odessa to Andy ?

Oh yeah huh?! Forgotten about that.
I suppose it could/does show another timeline.
I haven't yet re-watched the episode with Andy's dream but I wonder why the Fireman really told him much of anything except to be at JRP at the right time. But that is jumping way ahead of this part.
