In the Secret History book, Tamara Preston is tasked with examining a dossier found at a crime scene. Do you think this happened before the events in The Return? Maybe the dossier make an appearance sooner or later like the Secret Diary of Laura Palmer did in the show.
You mean the assigment Cole gave her right? Yes that happened before, Tammy found stuff that she wasn't supposed to know because were that classified and wasn't allowed to that kind of info, so she gave the dossier with whatever she found to the Director's office.
Btw i really like the choice of Chrysta Bell as Tammy!
I agree, Chrysta Bell is a great choice (although, the actress that did the voice acting in the audiobook version, Annie Wersching, who worked on "24", would've been a good choice as well: she did a very good job on the audiobook).
There's a minor inconsistency, between the book and the series, though: in "The Secret History of Twin Peaks", Tamara Preston learns some info about Phillip Jeffries while analyzing the dossier but, in the show, she reacts as if she doesn't know who Jeffries is.
Nothing major, of course, but it's one of the few "mistakes" in the book that can't really be explained away (or, maybe, it can be, if we assume Tammie has a really bad memory for names 😀 ).
I like Chrysta Bell as Tammy too!
I don't know if it was intentional, but while intelligent, the character moves and speaks in a sultry way and that ends up making her a quirky character. Like you wouldn't think that that's an FBI agent.
I think it has been mentioned before that the new show will not exactly follow the info. in Secret History. We don't know yet if there's a hidden reason for that, or just because it's Mark Frost's creation that was not co-written with or even had David's consultation on.
I'm not entirely sure that the dossier has been found yet. I don't know, but to me it seems like Tamara Preston is a little too unaware about the whole thing with Cooper, Jeffries and Twin Peaks so far. Wouldn't it be cool if we would actually get to see that mysterious crime scene where they find the dossier and also see Tamara being handed the case? I like the idea that maybe the book tells us about something that hasn't even happened yet!
Could be wrong of course, I don't know what date it's supposed to be in the show.
Also, Tamara played by Bell will probably be interesting, but to me she seems a little too different from Tamara Preston in the book. In the book her character feels more like a young Dana Scully, while Tamara in The Return feels more like an agent working extra as an burlesque artist. Still, I'm super excited about that they bring the character from the book into the show, and I LOVE the new take on Twin Peaks. 26 years of waiting is over!
Good points everybody! Chrysta and David together are a perfect combo and i think they will be great in Twin Peaks too as Gordon and Tammy
Yeah, I think that TP hasn't been given the dossier yet, if it has even been found, timeline wise.

Haha, yes, totally. Her walk and body language seem almost deliberately sexual. But I think this makes for quirky character. So now we got another crazy working for the FBI. They've all been crazies : Coop, Cole, Albert, Jeffries.
Hey! I just saw that the name of episode 5 will be "Case files"! Promising...
