It was clearly noted in the secret history that inLaura's diary BOB is written in all caps. If there is another thread dealing with what BOB stands for please link it and let this one die but...
am I alone in think king BOB is not an actual name but an acronym instead? And if so, what are your theories as to the meaning?
Beware of Bob is suggested but, seems kind of flat.
Boy Oh Boy.
Capitalized for emphasis, IMO.
There's also the screenplay/script convention where all cast names are capitalized.
Baby Of Bang - there was big bang - nuclear test 🙂
Big Old Bomb
I think it was always just in caps in LP's diary so as to alert the reader that he was more than just a "name" - she obviously knew he wasn't just a "man" who'd show up in her bedroom at night, but something more. I don't there's any indication it's an acronym. It's really just a symbolic name anyway. It's also how MIKE is referred to in all caps when written. When Cooper and the police had MIKE in for questioning they asked: "Who is Bob?" Mike almost shrugs and says (I may be paraphrasing):
"Bob? Bob is Bob... Bob is fun! ...and Bob is Fear...
If not an acronym then perhaps some sort of role-title? Like in football the Sam, Mike, and Will are three different linebacker positions. I have no idea about BOB. Just throwing stuff out there.
Cleaver topic name 🙂 I love that movie
Big Orangutans Bite
That's definitely it.
I always thought in the diary that is was capitalized so as not to be ever confused with Bobby.
From "The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer":
P.S. It just struck me that BOB's name is a warning in itself . . .
B. BEWARE
0. OF
B. BOB
BOMB OF BOMBS???
MIKE is in all caps too so what's that acronym?
Might I Kill Everyone
