I love that this story always hangs onto mystery, at more than one level. Always incomplete, it is food for thought, and thought never stops. I love it. And, after a second watch at least, I love Part 18.

But part of that is how it just spurs endless thinking. I worry that what they have given us now might reduce too easily for a lot of people. That is what annoys me.

Oh man, I stayed up and managed to stay awake for the penultimate episode, but have yet to watch the finale. I've seen so many negative opinions and am dreading it!

Why are you looking at reactions before you finish it!  Bad! Watch first!

You may end up being correct in your annoyance, but I think a rewatch of the entire series, knowing how it ends, will cause the development of new theories and a different way of seeing earlier parts and possibly even the whole.

Mark Frost could also throw a wrench into a few theories with the Final Dossier and raise more questions (concerning what happened between seasons 2 and 3).

There is a lot to try and unpack here for those willing to dig deep.

There may even be a blossoming of fan fiction.

Cant wait to hear y'alls thoughts on future podcasts.

Yeah I had so much time during the episode for thought during the intermissions when the actors were driving silently in the car. Hurrah to David Lynch, he did what he couldn't completely do in the first two seasons and made the show pretty much about Gordon Cole.

My advice: Let it simmer for a bit and maybe even rewatch. I'm on my third and am loving it. Don't fall prey to knee-jerk reactions (Your own or others').

I'm with Caoimhin on this one.

I was also thinking, this is the kind of ending you always see "cut" and then dropped into deleted material on dvd release.  I'm intrigued by the idea that if the season ended on episode 17, but episode 18 was an "extra" it would have been more well received.

Augh, is it October yet?  I need that Final Dossier in my hands NOW.

My initial thoughts, again, were similar. I described the last half of part 18 as a sorta of epilogue that confounded rather than provided answers:

Oh yes, I'll no doubt be watching it a good few times.
