ok, so, my title should provide some absolution for the crazy things i am about to say...
i honestly think Lynch was channeled by higher forces.
i totally see the connection to a part of mankind experiencing something called the `mandela effect`, ie.dimensional travel.
i think this is not by accident.
i felt like Cooper more than once during this season...
thanks dave for letting the clueless see the world through my eyes.
Interesting how you say that. I've felt distinctly, twice, once when Cooper met the Mitchum Bros. in the desert, another time when Cooper first knocks on the door and Carrie Page (Laura), comes to the door, a profound sense of deja vu, or that I've seen those exact scenes before. Can't even adequately describe it - Felt very much like I've had dreams seeing both scenes (sounds really goofy even to me, but that's precisely how it felt and it really hit me like a ton of bricks, so to speak). Not a scene or generalized recollection reminiscent of the scenes in this show, but viewed in dream the exact sequences. However, I'm open to the fact it's my brain playing tricks on me/being so damn into the show. Also, have had a lot of experiences like this just in regular everyday life/synchonicities as some people call it. Usually the queues are very mundane, walking into a particular spot, all the sudden my perspective shifts, I feel slightly disassociated (no chemical involvement producing it) - as if my 'perspective' or 'sight,' adjusts to encompass my peripheral view, boxing the shot in real time like a photograph. I've learned to basically not ignore these instances altogether, but not get too bogged down in pouring over them, as perhaps these kind of anomalous experiences can already be accounted for in neurological fields, or may in the future be totally explainable. I don't think you're crazy at all, I think many people experience these kinds of things, some absolutely do not pay attention to them or discuss them (don't blame them haha), others pay very strict attention. It sounds like either way, at the very least, you're not afraid to observe from outside of yourself. Not sure how to put it really...
I don't know anything about the Mandela effect and have no opinion on it.
As stated before, my family has had a lot of experience with what we perceive to be spirits, leading me to believe we do in fact have souls / consciousness which extend beyond death. I have a lot of friends who are psychics too and have similar beliefs.
I also believe that Lynch is 'tapping the metaphysical ether' via meditation for some of his artistic ideas / concepts. Many artists, myself included, believe that we get some assistance/guidance from the "Other Side" in terms of inspiration and ideas, some of which come from dreams in which the resting mind is more open to spirit. I don't have a sense whether he has an 'agenda' beyond making art from these concepts.
It is VERY easy to sound like a lunatic when discussing any of this stuff if one doesn't continue to ground oneself. Whatever else may or may not exist outside this reality, day to day living goes on with seeming continuity, and if we're not careful we can easily end up our own metaphysical asses.
I have my own ideas about how things all work, but I've not met a human being who could define existence with total accuracy, so sometimes it's better to give the big metaphysical thoughts a rest and enjoy life as it appears.
I subscribe meaning to existence. I think what we put out in the world - our generosity, empathy, love, or lack thereof - are somehow returned to us. Karma. The world as we see it defines how we experience it. Gratitude is very helpful!
I do think that Lynch's emphasis on the underside in his art reveals his worldview, which is somewhat dark. I only find this useful to a point. The art I make explores light and shade, but I try to keep the emphasis on hope. The more I do, the better life is.

Your experiences are consistent with things I've experienced first hand, and from family members. My brother occasionally literally dreams events a day or two before they happen. Usually they will be challenging moments and the fact that he dreams them in advance helps him prepare for them when they actually happen.
I dreamt about a disaster very similar to 9/11 a few days before it happened.
This suggests that the future already exists. Perhaps sensing aspects of the future is to tie into or connect with the 'omniscient' viewpoint of a creator or agent outside our reality. Or at the very least, unperceived by us.
I have a recurring dream where I'm driving a car but then my POV switches to outside the car. I'm watching myself drive the car. It's the experience of being both the observer and the participant, which I think I've read comes from Buddhist notions of 'mindfulness.'
There's definitely some interesting, amazing shit going on around us, should we pause to notice and be open to larger possibilities.
Did you see The Art Life?
There's a scene that shows how Lynch decided to start moving from making paintings and sculpture to video/film when he was a young man in art school. In his words,
...he was painting a tree or plant of some kind.
..the painting began to MOVE.
...He noted this and decided it was a sign that it would be cool to make MOVING PAINTINGS.
This is not your ordinary boy next door (except he sort of is that too). But it would seem that some of his vision escapes his head.
I didn't see Art Life but that's definitely interesting. From my POV it's entirely possible for the painting to move. Usually that's a sign of a standard issue ghost.
Btw, standard disclaimer - don't purposefully invite ghosts/spirits into your home / life! An open door can be accessed by unfriendly parties as easily as friendly ones.
