Yea ... I would think it would be more obvious ... but who knows with Lynch
Just rewatched again. When Laura is screaming and the electricity goes out, you can see it again. It's way too quick to get a photo of that.
Okay, so this pic is sideways. If you are looking at the pic as is, look at the bottom of the top window. It's there.
I circled her. I know it's hard to tell, but this is a cell pic from a tv, so not the best quality. Watch it on your tv (not phone or computer) and look close. It's totally the experiment and you can see it move a little.
so what would make sense is that Mrs Tremond is hiding the experiment and possibly looking like ' the average american woman' and the husband is "the grandson"
they are there so that laura doesnt meet the experiment
BUT then why does Coop yell WHAT YEAR IS IT? what s the point of that sentence? Wouldnt he say more something like "I remember the Chalfonts!!!" or "who lives in this house?"
i feel like the "what year is it" question is so so so important because Coop realises he is in the wrong dimension/ time and at that moment it is the wrong house....but if the mother is there then it is the right house?
what bothers me as well is that Sarah was hiding someone in her house when Hawke went to see her ....what was it????? was it tremond and grandson?
Something, not sure what, causes Coop to realize something is off, knows he's in a different time/dimension. I am pretty sure at this point that Laura screams, because she sees the experiment and realizes what's going on.

Laura screamed because she heard her mother calling for her

I've blown up my high definition screenshot and do not see it - but, like I said, who am I to argue - I can only give my opinion on whether I see it or do not see it
OK- so I got an OK screen capture though it's not the same window. There are couple of things against careful analysis, the biggest being that the whole series has had some of the worst video compression I've ever seen in a modern HD broadcast. Maybe you also noticed that whenever we "fade to black" (or any dark scene for that matter, in any episode) we still see a video "ghost" image, or big blocky shapes long after the transition. Many of the coolest scenes, especially any of the B&W ones throughout the season had really bad video noisy and compression ghosting (and no, this isn't something deliberate on the past of the show, trust me). I am a professional animator and video editor BTW.
OK, anyway moving on: I did get a capture as you can see. Right when Laura looks at her house, on the lower right wide window a figure fades into the room. It's fast and cuts to her then screaming, and then when we cut back to the house we can only see it for about 2-3 frames (not seconds, each second is made up of 30 frames). So I expect when a good Blu-Ray set comes out we'll be able to see this entity much better, but for now we have to work with what we have. Whatever the thing was, it's definitely creepy!
So on first glance I thought I saw the Experiment, but not where some of you think. I didn't see the "head" at all, but this image on the first floor, right side looked like part of a body with no head. Shades of Ruth Davenport?

Not so different from the genius who spotted Sarah Palmer's videoed face superimposed on the jumping man's a few weeks ago.
this needs a watch right now.. thank you
