OK - does anyone have a theory on Sarah smashing up Laura's photo? Was it her we heard wailing, or Leland?
Is Sarah 'Judy'? Was she smashing up the picture in frustration as BOB/Leland now can't get to Laura, as Coop intervened?
Where did Laura go when she vanished in the woods with Coop??
I think losing Laura means she past and lost into different dimension or time-line whatever just like Naido did at episode 3 and that's why Coop found her as Carey not remembering what happened.
I interpreted that as Judy being furious that they "lost" Laura in time. Remember, for the lodge entities time is very flexible. We still don't know what Judy's relationship to Laura is, but it looks like Laura's identity is still an antithesis to Judy and her offspring Bob.

This pretty much how I interpreted it. Poor, Coop, thought it was going to be easy.
I don't know about anyone else, but I was fully prepared to see a Cooper & Sarah standoff in the woods when Laura disappeared. Maybe it's from reading all of these theories, but whenever I hear the bug scratching noise I think of Sarah Palmer being possessed by the frog moth.
In response to your question about the "Laura" wailing coming from Sarah or Leland, I listened to it twice and the first time I thought it was Leland but after I turned it up I'm quite positive it's Sarah. Which way are you leaning?
... whenever I hear the bug scratching noise I think of Sarah Palmer being possessed by the frog moth...
You think it's completely settled that the girl in 1956 is Sarah? You don't think the bug is the embryonic version of Bob? You don't like the theory that the girl from '56 is the future Mrs. Robertson, a host for Bob who passes Bob on to young Leland?

No. Settled isn't a word I would describe anything I saw in this season of Twin Peaks. Hehehe
What I am certain of is what Sarah did to that trucker truly frightened me. I tend to get anxious when faced with a possible horror scene so the manner in which Laura disappeared and the sounds that stopped and started, simultaneously, freaked me right out. The forest lingered and all I could think of was the scariest character breaking through the shadows to tear Cooper apart.
Are those your theories? I haven't heard that last one. Good theories.

I was pretty positive it was the sound of Sarah calling Laura when she can't find her in the pilot episode. Either when she's calling into her room or running down the stairs. Which, honestly was just terribly unsettling to me because at that point in the episode we shouldn't have been hearing anything like that.
Dammit Lynch if you're going to make another season you'd better do it fast because I don't think you can replace Grace Zabriskie.
agreed ,, Grace MVP
Loved every scene she was in. Incredible actress. Mesmerizing performances.
When we are in the Palmer lounge and we hear the wailing it does sound like Leland at first...but then it's definitely Sarah...she then appears on screen and smashes up the picture...maybe both were wailing (Sarah as Judy and Leland as Bob) as they've 'lost' Laura
As for the 'Laura' at the end scene yes that's definitely from the pilot when Sarah's calling Laura for breakfast at the foot of the stairs.
Interesting theories too on the insect squeak we hear right before Laura vanishes in the woods. It's definitely related to that frog bug.
Thanks guys for the responses, great to discuss.

Shortly after ep. 8 that ended with the bug - I think it was on the Twin Peaks Wiki where I saw the theory that the bug was Bob and the girl was the future Mrs. Robertson.--hmm, it may have been somewhere else, I've looked around so much. The Twin Peaks Wiki is great to visit though. Here's the link:
- I think the old lady Ms Tremont could be the girl who swallowed the frog moth / BOB. Remember she was at the meeting above the convenience store with her grandson (grandson perhaps symbolizing a young Leland??) thoughts?
Some thoughts on this (but haven't watched this finale again yet). I noted that when Sarah was stabbing Laura's picture in the frame, all she was doing was breaking the glass but the picture itself remained untouched and not damaged by the knife. Also, I got a different take on Laura's screaming at the end.... I think this was Lynch's final scene of his vision against domestic violence. When Laura (or rather Carrie Page) left with Cooper, we saw that she had shot her husband in the head... from finally fed up with being abused?? And similary, Sarah at the bar killing the man who was threatening her. And finally, Laura (Carrie's) scream at the end happened when she heard the couple in the house yelling which brought back nightmares of her own domestic violence and killing her husband.
