i just rewatched 18 and the look in Coop/Richards eyes at the end is heartbreaking. It's a look of profound sadness.

Lol yes I think many of us feel heartbreak and dispair right along with him!

I felt the same way. The message I got was that utopia simply cannot be, try as we might to make everything right.
