This interpretation is pretty cool. But at which point is Laura dreaming? How can she scream and wake up the morning she is dead.. if she is killed during the night? She has dreams about Cooper, if this is one of them, when did this dream 'actually' happen?
Nevermind, is the point that she was never murdered? And that everything that happened That her mother shouted "Laura" and this woke her up, because she isn't dead, she is alive.
But can this go further? Can we assert that this was Laura's dream which transitioned her from being dead to being alive? Remember Laura in the lodge in the first few episodes. "I am dead, yet I live"? Instead of Sarah screaming to an empty bedroom, Laura is actually in bed, safe and sound, and she is awoken by her Mum?
And this is because Cooper succeeded in preventing her death? Just taking her off the path was enough to change time?

This certainly feeds the "Laura is the one" comment by The Log Lady.
I like that explanation ?
Good theories in the comments on this Reddit post ^^
Laura being sucked out of the Lodge was her being transported into the Hell-ish dream we experienced, where she could slowly make the transition and realization that she is indeed Laura Palmer, and thus wake up in her bed, no murder required.
Cooper and Diane seemed to know what was about the happen. They were about to go back to 1989, they had no idea what the future was going to hold, but I think they are both scared to lose the last 25 years of their (Lodge) lives. Everything which happened since season 2 has been reversed. Or perhaps they will awake in 2015/6/7 with entirely different lives and different memories, because the events which took Cooper to Twin Peaks never happened.
Sarah Palmer screaming and smashing up Laura's photograph is to say "No! No! You're supposed to die!" because at this point she is inhabited by the evil spirits who initially wanted to kill and inhabit Laura.
Also, can we assume that, even if the timeline between Season 2 and Season 3 did not happen, that BoB was still killed, because he is an inter-dimensional supernatural beast, who despite being killed in a timeline which has been essentially reversed, his death would echo across all worlds, across all times. So when Laura wakes up in 1989, she was never abused by her father, because her father was never possessed by BoB, because by killing Bob, all of his evils are undone? I'm not subscribing to this theory just yet, just trying to rationalize what it would mean in the long-term.
The entire timeline between Laura's death and Mr. C's death was the world which failed. Evil broke loose and wrecked havoc. The world which was never meant to be, the world which has now been erased. The world where weird and strange and wacky things happen. A world where BoB existed. But BoB is no more.
I think that is what the theory is trying to suggest. Would love some input to try and cope with this mass amount of information! Impossible for one person to grasp it all ! D:
Here is a very nice theory:

Here's my thing. We see Cooper losing Laura in the woods. So even if she goes home, and lives, that's in the past and she's still living with BOB and "Sarah." There's a reason he wanted to bring her to the portal in the woods. I'm sure Dale knows Laura's spirit, whatever form it is in, is the key to combatting the great evil/mother/Judy (who I'm pretty sure is Chalfont and possessing Sarah)

Hi Jeremy,
"We are like the dreamer who dreams, and then lives inside the dream. But who is the dreamer?"
"Laura is the One."

That would also explain Cooper's apparent malfunction right in the last seconds of the show and why he asks "what year is this". Could Cooper and Laura be returning to 1989? That would give a whole new meaning to the Return.
It's a clever theory. I just don't agree with the "last scene is a dream" idea. It would make a lot more sense to me if everything that happens from the moment Cooper/Richard wakes up in the motel is Laura's dream back in 1989. The moment he wakes there is when things really change after 430.
