Picture on the wall says it all

Thinking a lot about what is happening in the kitchen in the Palmer house and the presence of the Tremond/Chalfonts led me to a theory I haven't seen suggested.

Mrs. Tremond gives Laura the picture "this would look nice on your wall" in FWWM. Is this when the portal is established? Laura immediately goes through the picture into the lodges that night while she sleeps. In the morning she takes it off the wall but for all we know the picture never left the house.

I wonder if this is when the Palmer House doorway was opened. I don't see Sarah as being inhabited yet in FWWM or the original series. I am still unconvinced that she is herself inhabited, I think it's possible but I also think it could be the house itself which is inhabited.

The picture is the one.

Everyone is wired differently, mentally and emotionally. I think no matter your own personal emotional/mental setup, Lynch and Frost have managed to affect almost everyone who watched it in some manner, whether it's pure confusion or emotional fatigue.

I like the theory that the picture was a like a portable portal and was planted in the house to allow entrance/egress into the house.

I could imagine that the house in the alternate dimension we saw in 18 also had a painting and Sarah's cries of Laura were emanating from Twin Peaks prime into that dimension through the painting, as if an echo from far away / long ago that finally reached that house at a most convenient time.

It might also help explain the Chalfont / Tremond connection to the alternate dimension house.

Yes! and if the original Mrs.Tremond knew Bob was living in that house of course she would try to plant a gate way. For good or evil it's difficult to say?

Sorry. For some reason I posted this reply in the wrong thread! Was meant to go in another one (in case anyone thinks I'm s weirdo. Well, I am. But that's besides the point).

I thought that felt strangely off topic for you. XD

I didn't have time to look back, but I wonder if the timing of the Tremond's house when Donna and Coop checked it out occurred after the painting was gifted to Laura.  It might explain why Tremond was no longer there?

Yes, it was after. Donna and Cooper went after Laura was killed.
