Hi Jeffrey,

I'm surprised Showtime did not offer the full David Lynch filmography during the last three months - or introduce additional Lynch films now that folks will be dropping.

They are currently showing Dune on Showtime Beyond.  It wouldn't surprise me to see other Lynch films on Extreme, Showcase, or Beyond.

😉

The cast is probably too old, but Moonlighting was very similar to Peaks with regard to impact and how quickly and spectacularly it flamed out.

Firefly, Angel or Buffy.

Tales from the Darkside.

I don't know about Buffy or Angel.  They played their stories out for the most part, had long lives and completed what needed to be completed even if there was a cliff hanger or 2 left over.  😉

Part of what made TP return with the fervor that it did was also part of what made it a cult classic.  Yes, the content and the impact on TV programming forever more was a big part of it.  But IMHO, also what aided to that was that TP burned HOT and BRIGHT.....and brief.  It spiraled into chaos, dug itself out only to end with the most treacherous cliff hanger of all times.  Then there was a movie, that did not answer the question "How's Annie" but did fill in some gaps about events leading up and also raised more questions.

And then it was gone.............................

Yes, a few books popped up but those are questionable in their "legitimacy" to the story.

I can't speak for Firefly since I never got around to watching it, although I somehow own it. I know there are other shows that might be phenomenal rebirths, but I just cannot think of them. Why am I drawing such a blank?!

This doesn't include the 2 million people who streamed it online

Source?  Part 17/18, or other parts?   [See the link in the OP. ]

Thanks for sharing this.  But stats without sources ...

While it would sadden me deeply to watch it.  A mini-series ending Quantum Leap where Sam finally dies would be my best idea for resurrecting an old series.

Yes, I think his ultimate death would do the show well.

An ending fitting of the 11 seasons for Married with Children would have been nice too.

They are only considering the audience in US, it's not a global cipher.

How DID that end?  I can't even remember.

They never really did a series ending.  The show just ended at the end of season 11.
