I was enchanted at the homage to many of the characters who were absent from TR at the end of 17. It was lovely to see Pete, Josie, Catherine & even Leo included in the time travel segment. No Donna though....

I tend to agree that decisions made are strictly about the characters, not the actors. Actors can be replaced. Same thing with Harry S. Truman. I don't understand the reason, but they felt like that character's story was not going forward. The only reason I can think of for the prominence of James in this series was his sexual soul-tie to Laura and his appearance in the CRITICAL scene that we see replayed in the finale.

And it was especially gratifying to watch Pete fishing peacefully on That Morning 🙂
