I know some people found Part 17 rushed or amateurish...  it reminded me a bit of Clue - you know the whodunnit film where Tim Curry is the butler & rushes everybody from scene to scene to accuse a different character?  Which got me thinking.

What if parts 17 & 18 were together to make a film-length ending.   Which may not be the ONLY ending...?

Big difference there.  Clue was at least amusing and wasn't part of a larger narrative.

I think 17 would have been better had some of the ideas in there been introduced earlier in the series, leaving room for it to breathe and maybe playing out the Truman and Mr C scene a bit longer, giving it more tension.  It seemed rushed, forced and well, you know.

18 needed the full episode to show things getting progressively worse, from a sort of promising start.

The two episodes didn't sit well together, IMO.  Too different in pace and tone, no real continuity.  As an entire 18 hour (give or take) movie, I can get that it works.  As a two hour ending, nah.

May not be the only ending but at the moment it's the only one we have.  If it is, I'm ok with it.  The unresolved stuff, well life's like that.  You die and the world goes on after, or so they say.  Right now I have a slight inkling Cooper isn't too worried about the coffee in Twin Peaks, or how the Mitchums are going to bond with Andy and the rest of the lads up there.

So was it all just another "Clue" to what was happening?

It might be one of the options for what happened next...
