I think is "the number of completion", not "the number of completeness"

So a thought has been running around in my head ever since I watched the finale, amongst other things of course. And one thing that stood out to me was Coopers message to Gordon Cole "it's 253 in vegas and that adds up to 10, the number of completeness" I actually forgot that Cooper himself states in his note "the number of completeness" when I started to write this. Because I wanted to be accurate in quoting Cooper I re-watched episode 17 and realised the number of completeness has significant meaning. What I think agent Cooper was referring to was human completeness,

In that all human players/characters were now present for the final showdown between, good and evil.

Lynch uses philosophy and understanding from many places, sometimes the Bible. The bible refers to the number "10" as completeness with man's involvement. Some translations of the Bible use the term perfection, The word perfection in the Bible is not always used in our modern understanding of the word, it can simply mean fullness or completion, all the parts as a whole. Not a perfect man or perfect conditions.

If this is what Cooper was referring too, then I find it very interesting. If numbers are used within this context, then some other numbers from the Bible may also have relevance in TP?

For example we see 6 on the power line pole in TP and it's shown to Deputy Andy in his vision from the "Fireman".  There are two possible meanings to the number 6.

6 on its own is very positive, in the bible 6 is also the number of balance, harmony, cooperation (ha COOPERation...) and marriage. However six was shown to Andy three times, was this repetition for emphasis, or are we looking at 666? If it is the latter then it has a very different meaning altogether. Revelation 13:18 "This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and its number is 666" The wild beast mentioned in the Bible refers to Satan or more accurately his evil organisation as a whole, perhaps in Lynch's mind it refers to an "extremely powerful negative force"?

However as the 6 is being repeatedly shown to Andy and the colour changes from black-and-white to full colour with each frame, it is my personal opinion that it is the number 6 being repeated for emphasis and not 666.

This may be a bit far-fetched but another number that is supposed to have significance is 430. This is part of the riddle clues given to Cooper by the fireman. If agent Cooper can add numbers together and tell us it has relevance, then when adding 4 and 3 together we get 7, guess what add the 0 and we get......stupid!

430 is the distance Cooper and Dian travel in order to reach a portal to take them to another dimension.

The next number that stands out to me and appears frequently is the number 7.

Like the number 10, 7 in the Bible also refers to perfection or completeness. However  It means divine fulness, completeness and totality. It comes from a Hebrew word meaning “to be full,” “to be satisfied,” and “to have enough.

Many times seven is important as a symbol rather than as an actual number. Whenever you read seven, it does not always literally mean seven things or seven occurrences. It is symbolic of the whole or the completion or the ideal situation or the perfect picture of things. Seven constitutes a complete cycle.

There is a seven on side of the elevator (LIFT, for people who speak properly) when Philip Jeffries enters the Philadelphia offices of the FBI. Due to his appearance and the manner in which Jeffries appears and disappears, it's clear to see that Jefferies is there in the spirit form. Perhaps the seven is symbolic of him or the information he has to offer? Also 7 is next th agent Chet Desmond in FWWM.....

Here is the only instances which I can remember without re-watching, of where the numbers appear?

I'll be interested to hear from you all your thoughts on this and any other areas numbers appear to have significance? And whether they have any relevance within the biblical context?  I don't think the address numbers on the Palmers house have any relevance. It's just a real house.

The meaning of these numbers is connected to numerology.  And also the Kabbalah.  And it can also be found in the Thoth Tarot deck.
