So a thought has been running around in my head ever since I watched the finale, amongst other things of course. And one thing that stood out to me was Coopers message to Gordon Cole "it's 253 in vegas and that adds up to 10, the number of completeness" I actually forgot that Cooper himself states in his note "the number of completeness" when I started to write this. Because I wanted to be accurate in quoting Cooper I re-watched episode 17 and realised the number of completeness has significant meaning. What I think agent Cooper was referring to was human completeness,

In that all human players/characters were now present for the final showdown between, good and evil.

Lynch uses philosophy and understanding from many places, sometimes the Bible. The bible refers to the number "10" as completeness with man's involvement. Some translations of the Bible use the term perfection, The word perfection in the Bible is not always used in our modern understanding of the word, it can simply mean fullness or completion, all the parts as a whole. Not a perfect man or perfect conditions.

If this is what Cooper was referring too, then I find it very interesting. If numbers are used within this context, then some other numbers from the Bible may also have relevance in TP?

For example we see 6 on the power line pole in TP and it's shown to Deputy Andy in his vision from the "Fireman".  There are two possible meanings to the number 6.

6 on its own is very positive, in the bible 6 is also the number of balance, harmony, cooperation (ha COOPERation...) and marriage. However six was shown to Andy three times, was this repetition for emphasis, or are we looking at 666? If it is the latter then it has a very different meaning altogether. Revelation 13:18 "This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and its number is 666" The wild beast mentioned in the Bible refers to Satan or more accurately his evil organisation as a whole, perhaps in Lynch's mind it refers to an "extremely powerful negative force"?

However as the 6 is being repeatedly shown to Andy and the colour changes from black-and-white to full colour with each frame, it is my personal opinion that it is the number 6 being repeated for emphasis and not 666.

This may be a bit far-fetched but another number that is supposed to have significance is 430. This is part of the riddle clues given to Cooper by the fireman. If agent Cooper can add numbers together and tell us it has relevance, then when adding 4 and 3 together we get 7, guess what add the 0 and we get......stupid!

430 is the distance Cooper and Dian travel in order to reach a portal to take them to another dimension.

The next number that stands out to me and appears frequently is the number 7.

Like the number 10, 7 in the Bible also refers to perfection or completeness. However  It means divine fulness, completeness and totality. It comes from a Hebrew word meaning “to be full,” “to be satisfied,” and “to have enough.

Many times seven is important as a symbol rather than as an actual number. Whenever you read seven, it does not always literally mean seven things or seven occurrences. It is symbolic of the whole or the completion or the ideal situation or the perfect picture of things. Seven constitutes a complete cycle.

There is a seven on side of the elevator (LIFT, for people who speak properly) when Philip Jeffries enters the Philadelphia offices of the FBI. Due to his appearance and the manner in which Jeffries appears and disappears, it's clear to see that Jefferies is there in the spirit form. Perhaps the seven is symbolic of him or the information he has to offer? Also 7 is next th agent Chet Desmond in FWWM.....

Here is the only instances which I can remember without re-watching, of where the numbers appear?

I'll be interested to hear from you all your thoughts on this and any other areas numbers appear to have significance? And whether they have any relevance within the biblical context?  I don't think the address numbers on the Palmers house have any relevance. It's just a real house.

Episode numbers have meaning. 6+6+6=18, episode 18 everything ends in despair. Episode 8 = infinite symbol, the episode of the atomic bomb, Judy sending Bob, Fireman sending Laura.

The number 10 was considered the number of completeness by the ancient Greeks.  I believe it started with the Pythagoreans, but it may have been earlier.

1 point defines a point (0 dimensions)

2 points for a line (1-d)

3 for a plane (2-d)

and 4 for a space (3-d)

1+2+3+4=10.

This is why we use a base 10 number system.  It's a happy coincidence (or providence, according to the Greeks) that we have 10 fingers.

The jail cells are also numbered - you can see 5, 3, 10. Chad (the asshole cop?) was in 10. I can't remember which cells the others were in. But the jail scene where Chad escapes is shown directly after the statement is made. And most of the numbers appear on the camera.

The Palmer house number may be significant in that 7+0+8=15, which is the number of the exit terminal in Naido's room in the mauve zone. She seemed horrified when she warned him off that exit. Here there be monsters.

Nice thought, I have seen theories that she is worried cooper will die if he passes through 15, as electricity plays a big part here. In particular the behaviour of AC and DC current. The short version is she changes the current to DC just before she is blow away into the nonexistent. When Coop descends back into the room 3 is now here and he is able to leave. It makes sense when you see how it was filmed, and a little knowledge of the behaviour of AC, DC current then blows your mind

First 2:53(first to 7, then to 10), happy ending adding up to 10(Odessa Texas, Diane and Cooper), then this leads to 430(first to 7, then back to zero, back to Twin Peaks and Laura Palmer, no escaping it...)....

Chad 'enjoys the beautiful day' at 10 was also just wanting to erase the drunk guy mimicking him, someone playing something like underside tulpa/doppelganger, etc, Chad wants to kill Judy......thus he becomes a 'truck driver'......

When Jeffries says to Agent Cooper 'this is where youll find Judy', then he shows the infinity side with the stone, the sign flips to show the mirror image, reverse side, doppelganger/tulpa, etc., then the stone moves back to the reverse side without flipping, thus completing the return, the two sides brought back together so they are not running off automatically in an attempt to hide from the consequences of what has happened.  Now  going back to Twin Peaks and the site of the horror/pain and the dreams lost there, bringing it all back, no escaping it into the 'beautiful day' of Odessa, Texas....

2:53p perpetually at the Station...clocks make no sense in dreams. Cooper is about to fix things, change the past, erase the present and changes Audrey's timeline, removing her from the bank....never getting blowed up & landing in a coma....her crazy story never happened

I might be wrong (please correct me if I am, because I'm trying to figure it out myself!) but I think there are only 3 #6 electricity poles, one at the fat trout, one at the intersection in twin peaks, and one outside carrie's house.  That is what made me think of 666 as well, and if andy is shown it 3 times, maybe he's being shown those 3 poles.

The thing about numbers / numerology is that it / they can reinterpreted in almost any way. That's why I stay away from them.

Normally I would agree, I brought this up because Coop literally states "10 is the number of completeness" in a way he's telling us numbers are important.
