I am never complaining about Freddie again...
In the midst of the battle at the sheriff station, Cooper asks, "Are you Freddy?" Am I missing something? When was Coop informed of the existence of Freddy? Or is this one of the Lodge things where the Fireman slipped him the info when the cameras weren't rolling?
I think Freddie's function, and by that I mean just the green glove, is that something supernatural is required to ultimately defeat BOB.
Surprised they didn't just reactivate Nadine. Add the golden shovel and you'd have a good excuse for the Dr. Amp arc.
I was hoping (and half expecting)that a 'baddie' would get decapitated by a golden shovel.

Well they made enough of a production about those damn shovels that SOMEBODY should have taken one to the face in that final boss scene.
Ah Freddie, one of my favorite topics. His appearance in the show was one of those, what the hell are they doing, moments. I can not think of a worse Twin Peaks story arch since Nadine went back to high school. I'd even take the Lucy baby story arch over that crap again (and I hated Dick so that says something).

Sorry Charlie, loved the Nadine goes back to highschool story.. To me that maintained some of the quirkiness of TP while it was adrift in the land of Falcon Crest, Dynasty, Dallas, etc.

Falcon Crest, Dynasty, Dallas? What are these things of which you speak?
Seriously, when I first started reading this I thought you were just getting me back for my affection for Tammy Preston.
Actually I am glad someone enjoyed Nadine's Encino Man moment.
It could have been Wally instead of Freddy. So the Brennan Family would have got a part in fighting evil: Andy meet the Fireman and take care of Naido. Lucy shoot Mr.C and Wally end Bob. And at least he would have been a character not popping out of nowhere with a link to Laura Palmer tragedy via his parents.
The show definitely would have benefitted from more Wally Brando.

Yeah, I don't think it's a big jump in logic to assume that Cooper got clued in on a lot of things while spending 25 years in an extradimensional purgatory. To me, it's the same answer as for the question about Dale's lack of concern for Annie -- she probably died from her injuries, Dale probably became aware of it, and he's probably saddened but over her after 25 years.
The EW podcast guys had an interesting thought about Freddie. Namely, were the Fireman's other agents like Freddie and Andy either backup plans in the event of Cooper not regaining his marbles OR a vote of no confidence in Cooper? It's interesting to consider that Cooper mostly operated as an agent of Mike, and his intentions likely aren't as noble as the Fireman's. Perhaps the Fireman decided to cut bait.

I've been saying that since the golden shovels appeared. It would have been such a creative use of existing characters doing a combined "el kabong" of Bob. That;s how you shovel your way out of the s**t!
