OK, Fetska just brought this up (apologies).  I separated it out because I've been thinking about this since the night of.

Carrie wears a horseshoe necklace.  (it's white).  What I notice is the horseshoe is upside down.  This is an old time western motif for "All luck has run out."  It was common, and still is common in rural areas for people to nail a horseshoe above the barn door, garage door, what have you.  But the superstition goes that you must aim the horseshoe upright, or you will bring ill luck upon yourself.

I freaked out when I saw her necklace because the 99-year old house I live in has a horseshoe over the garage door, put there by the previous owner.  As a kid, my dad always told me to remember not to have an upside down horseshoe.

Carrie is a Texas girl.  She has to know this.  Maybe it's just a jewelry fad, about which I know nothing.  Anybody catch any relevance?

... guess Carrie isn't a Texas girl then?

I definitely think it's significant. With the horseshoe upside-down, it could also be Omega - Ω , with all the various religious meanings, and it's the symbol for Ohm, the measurement of electrical resistance.

Or she isn't Carrie either?

Now that's relevant.

Precisely. My theory for what it's worth is in a thread below...
