Not sure what episode it was, but Hawk showed Frank a map on a piece of linen and there was dead corn and he pointed to the symbol we now know to be infinity and didn't want to tell Frank what it meant. Does that means anything?

Thanks!

I guess that would tie in to the symbol that Jeffries showed Cooper.

Yes, but why was Hawk reluctant to say what it was and if I remember correctly he seemed afraid of it

I am pretty sure he pointed to the "mother" symbol, the same one on Mr. C's playing card.

The infinity symbol is an 8...he was pointing to the experiment ant head symbol.

Hawk showing the map was yet another one of all those pointless scenes of The Return that took us nowhere. I thought it would have some importance, that it would help them in some way, but no. The only thing it showed us was that Hawk probably knew something about that evil entity, but it had no significance to the overall plotline.

The infinity symbol is like and 8, turned on it's side. The 8 is never on it's side in Twin Peaks. It isn't meant to represent infinity. Instead it represents a twisted loop of time.  This is clear when Jeffries flips the 8 around and moves the point, literally a "You are here point", to take Cooper back to 1989.

As far as Hawk's map this is a good primer:
