Someone hold me. Please.

I'm very confused. Mentally and emotionally.

On the one hand I want answers but on the other I'm torn. Completely torn.

I feel a bit mugged off to be honest...

I'm hoping that changes soon.

Hi MynOk,

(with apologies to Rhymin' Simon)

I was twenty-one years when I wrote this song.
I'm twenty-two now but I won't be for long
Time hurries on.
And the leaves that are green turn to brown,
And they wither with the wind,
And they crumble in your hand.

Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl.
I held her close, but she faded in the night
Like a poem I meant to write.
And the leaves that are green turn to brown,
And they wither with the wind,
And they crumble in your hand.

I threw a pebble in a brook
And watched the ripples run away
And they never made a sound.
And the leaves that are green turned to brown,
And they wither with the wind,
And they crumble in your hand.

Hello, Hello, Hello, Good-bye,
Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye,
That's all there is.
And the leaves that are green turned to brown,
And they wither with the wind,
And they crumble in your hand.

😉

Someone get Lynch and Frost on the phone. We will demand a season 4 or at least a 2 hour movie!

After this bait & switch I'm done. Couldn't pay me to sit thru any follow up to this. I'm seething with rage.

I can handle most of the unresolved issues (Shelly and Red, Becky and Steven, Ben and Jerry, etc.), but the one thing that bothered me the most was not exploring Audrey's situation.  Hell, I don't even need it to be resolved.  Just tell us SOMETHING about her current state.

Yes, I guess she's forever trapped in hell which is kind of the way I'm feeling right now after screaming at my TV for the last 10 minutes.  Audrey was the ONE thing I really wanted wrapped up. This ending felt sadistic. I hope I can make peace with TPTR at some point.

But the retcon failed! That is what I take away from the final scene.

And God knows what kind of universe Twin Peakers are in now after Coop messed up the timeline in his failed attempt to save Laura 🙁

Somewhere out in the multiverse, they are carrying on as normal with nary a ripple to disturb their coffee and cherry pie.

That, IMO, is the saddest thing of all.  Cooper is still trying to sort everything out and they don't even know he exists any more.

So Laura wasn't the only "one"? By now we know Freddy was destined to destroy BOB, so he is also a chosen one.

Doesn't saving Laura cancelling all the events? Including destruction of BOB?

Also we know that Laura screame in FWWM after she sees Cooper, not BOB...then why he didn't save her in FWWM?. I think he had a chance.

I think MIKE always wanted to destroy BOB, because BOB caused great damage to both lodges and "real" world.

And right now i understand that all the events beginning from season 1 was an accurate plan of agent Cooper, White forces(Giant, Senorita Dido), Mike and his arm in order to establish the order, and to destroy the experiment, to kill two birds with one stone. He was aware of BOB, and Laura destination, he was about to enter the Black Lodge willingly to stop evil. But we still didn't see the final battle, so can it be destroyed. And if Laura was chosen one, then why The Giant/Fireman hadn't visited her, as he did to Freddie, to tell her about her destination? Why she wasn't ready, as was ready Freddy? Maybe because of The Mother and BOB, who covered her from The Giant/Firemen?

I see that when evil entities became aware of Laura's creation they possesed her future parents Sarah and Leland. Sarah definetely was that girl with frog in mouth, to make themselves easier to destroy her future child, and that's why Laura has so many dark in her, as it can be seen in FWWM. And also exiting of mother inside Sarah explains her habit to forget things, as with Lealand. But still i can't understand why Lealand drugged her while commiting his crimes.

Lauras scream in the end.... we saw another girl screaming just like that in the bar. Strange enough but all of this things about alternate universes seem quiet similar to Assassin's Creed's bleeding effect, when person can fell and see what was in the past while being in modern times. So maybe Carrie became aware of her(i don't know how to call it)Laura if to be short, or she has actually remmembered that she is Laura Palmer and recognized the evil, or The Mother found her, and started to torture.

Or maybe her scream, scream of Laura in the beginning, and scream of her the day she had to die is the same scream actually?

All of this itching events with girls in bar, i think it's kinda consenquences of The Mother, and screaming girl on dance floor, and guy nehind the bars, as we can see that he has become wilder after Mr. C arrived.

What year is it? Maybe it's a refference not to alternate universe but rather time: Is it future or is it past?

Many questions, right now i can't ask all of them as i need to think deeper.

Last but not leas, it was a great finale, i never expected things would end like this. Not sure about 4th season, but a movie like FWWM, would be great? As we know that Lynch is actually a mysterious person, so we can expect anything from him.

Lynch said that parts can be watched independently, so maybe watching them in mixed order will reveal more about all of this?=) And only then we'll have complete picture.

And another one. Phillip told that Mr.C has already met Judy, but as we know BOB inhabitted C. all the time. Why Mr. C wasn't aware of The Mother?

P.S. sorry for my poor english skill=)

Can you refresh my memory on Laura seeing Cooper in FWWM? That scene in Part 18 showing Cooper watching James and Laura wasn't in the movie, was it? I hope not, or I may be in my own dream.

C'mon, the same scene in FWWM when Laura just screams after she saw smth. Until watching part 17 i've thought it was Bob chasing her, but right now i understand it was actually Cooper.

Well, we know Norma didn't franchise the RR Diner (the sign as they drive by in part 18), so her pie recipes weren't compromised at other locations.

I can definitely sympathise with you, and "bait & switch" is an accurate way to describe it. We stuck with this season thinking things were leading somewhere, but they didn't.

The question is: did Lynch mess this up accidentally or on purpose? Either way, it's not good.

I mean, let's look at the possibilities:

  1. Lynch thought this was what we wanted, but got it wrong?
  2. Lynch didn't care what we wanted and just made what he wanted?
  3. Lynch deliberately made something he knew would challenge our expectations, even if that meant making something that not even he would watch himself?
  4. Lynch didn't know what he was doing and just filmed some random stuff without really knowing what was going on himself?

I suspect it was a mixture of 2, 3 and 4. What do you think?

Not.

The buggers had better make another series or movie now.  I can't wait 25 years for the next part.

If David Lynch is still alive 25 years from now and able to work, he has been taking secrets from Larry King.

This is just one interpretation of what happened. Not accurate IMO.

I think what happened is Lynch listened to the story, then told it as it was heard. I am surprised at how many forum members are disappointed by the ending. I found it to be an incredible, powerful experience throughout. The ending left me stunned, in a very good way.

When Cole started explaining about Briggs, Jeffries and Judy, I thought the answers might keep coming at that pace and I was a bit disappointed. I thought Lynch had gone soft at his old age.

But nope, not where it counts, buddy! The ending was f***ing with TV conventions at its best! Glad I got to experience that green gloved punch in the brain.

Lynch and Frost turned Cooper into the Flash, going back in time and changing events. He was also reduced to a bystander while Freddie beat the crap out of Mr C/Bob. And nothing about Audrey.

Though if we get  season 4, there's no shortage of storylines to pick up from.
