I keep going back to Cooper's hesitation in the middle of the street before leaving the Palmer House.  And the two names that came up from the lodge.  Maybe it was all a mirage to mislead and discourage.  Maybe Alice was the one in the kitchen making noises (maybe not).  And when Cooper said "What year is this?", that's when all hell broke loose.  I have to say, I really don't care if things become clear or not, but there are just enough puzzle pieces that my brain won't let me quit
