Hehe, the Richard and Linda singing duo--now that's a new one and pretty cool!

I like the idea and the theory.  To quote my own redundancy, "It's as good as any." Interesting perspective.

Thank you I agree on a lot. I have been analyzing the last episode so much, reading about Odessa, trying to link it to white sands, checking the maps, googling the brands (I didn't recognize them as I'm not from the USA) and didn't notice I was looking in our reality XD

Still I want to conclude more things in the TP reality because is the one with more flexible dimensions jaja

Having just rewatched the whole season, I was going to post my thought that Richard Cooper and Carrie Paige are in a kind of pan-time, not a specific year, but a place both 20th century (clued by the signs in the diner) and modern (clued by gas prices and car). So “what year IS it?”... “Is it future, or is it past.”

But then I started reading your article and found it much more interesting!! It culls together some of my thoughts (Billy Zane, the Paris scene) and adds much more. Thank you! I got up to the beginning of your 17+18 discussion. Will finish it tomorrow!

Now I’ve read it all. Very impressive Oz!!!! I had had ideas along these lines, but you brought in far more evidence than I had thought of. Your explanation of Dale’s superimposed face, the names Richard and Linda, the meaning of “Tremond,” all very good! Thank you!

I have trouble with some of these theories.  Perfectly reasonable, and not disprovable, but like Richard and Linda the singing duo... maybe.  Seems corny.  Although Sheriff Truman's hat was certainly corny.  And Billy Zane....that's tough for me to swallow.  Not for any particular reason, but, it's like she only knew him for a day?  a couple days?  Sure she mashed up on him, but I think she would've dropped him like a bad burrito for Cooper.  He wasn't her soul-mate, just a practice bang.  I dunno, maybe.  Maybe just a bit disappointing to me.  Maybe I just don't believe in convenient love.

I did like Tremond = Tres Monde.  That's perfect.  Makes me wonder about Chalfont.

chale = shawl, fonte = a melting (or cast iron?)  Need a french expert.

I did some research on Chalfont for my Fan Dossier, it actually seems to be much more English than French.

Here is the best explanation of the name I have found so far:

Exactly agreed thus why I couldn't give it anymore credo than most other theories.

Ok, so hold on a tic.  We are told:   Chalfont St. Peter in Berkshire. The first recording of the village name as "Ceadeles Funta" is in the Saxon Charters of 949 A.D...

And

However, the origination is Olde English "Ceadels spring or well" with "Ceadel" being a personal name pre 8th Century. The surname development is much later and includes Elizabeth Chalfannt

Ceadel?  Seattle?  Seattle's spring?

Ok, selective pattern recognition here, but: Chalfant is an uncommon surname in the United States. When the United States Census was taken in 2010, there were about 2,353 individuals with the last name "Chalfant,

 Time and Time again.

We can never go back

If Chalfont is a kind of font (fountain or spring), it seems like it would be possible to connect it to a source of something (energy, evil, etc.) that returns and is replenished through time, kind of like The Well hexagram in the I Ching.

I like your theory, Oz. The Richard and Linda song doesn't seem like a trivial connection to me. I have issues with a lot of theories being torturously complicated, but not this one since it fits various things that Lynch has said over the years, and the "we live in a dream" idea is one he's hammering all the way through the work.  Richard and Linda and their song seem like at the very least an Easter Egg.
