Nothing has been lost. Everything that occurred in The Return has added to Twin Peaks and not diminished it. Nothing has been removed. Not one mote has been negated. It is all still there. Twin Peaks is as powerful and as vibrant as ever.  Pete, Catherine, Josie & all the rest of the crazy Twin Peaks gang still exist. Don't be sad that we've left Cooper & Laura on the threshold of an end/beginning. Rejoice in their story and the other denizens of Twin Peaks. Relish the new strands that have been added to the tapestry. Be happy that we've more paths to follow, more mysteries to solve and more dreams to dream.

4 months ago we didn't have Deputy Bobby Briggs, Jade gave 2 Rides or Freddy and his funky green glove. (We're not gonna talk about Philip the Perculator 😉 )

To be honest, I'm really sad and heartbroken after the 18 episodes & I do feel somewhat adrift. But I'm also glad that Frost & Lynch took us all on this wild ride into their crazy world.

Intellectually I agree.  I'm just not there emotionally.

But I wouldn't trade a lot of aspects for anything....like this forum.  🙂

Oh and what a ride it was. Thank you for reminding me as I was slipping back into my anger and despair.

Could not have said it better.  On Sunday night I was confused and sad..... as I have rewatched I am beginning to see the genius behind the madness.  I will embrace the experience and rejoice in the fact that I was able to watch a show that challenged me..... not necessarily in ways I always appreciated but challenged me.... and that is a gift.

Thank you for this. I've been in a bit of an angry, depressed haze since Sunday night. I re-watched 17 & 18 tonight and feel much better. I needed to take a step back and re-group. I also reminded myself that I h-a-t-e-d FWWM when it came out and now I view it as a masterpiece. Lynch's work is a living breathing thing that we need to let wash over us before we can fully appreciate it. I'm grateful to have had this extraordinary experience.

Oh wow, I hated FWWM the first couple of times too! Good to know I'm not the only that needed some time for it to grow on me. 🙂

I could still do without Freddy and his green glove.

I was actually cheering for BOB in that scene.

Maybe after I rewatch I'll feel better. I hope so.

I also hated FWWM when it came out. I was 17, and I went to see it with my mother and her friend. Her friend fell asleep, and my mother kept gasping. It was awful. But in anticipation of the new series, I made my husband sit down and watch S1 and 2 and FWWM, and I had a whole new appreciation for the film.

The Missing Pieces, not so much. Aside from the Leland/Laura scene on the night she's hiding in the bushes, which I'm surprised didn't make it into the film, where he's staring at her from the front lawn stairs - truly terrifying.

Give the kid a break; he was out of his range.  They should have kept him just sitting on his ass cracking walnuts...that was some good acting.
