(With props to Maythrowaway)
The year is 1966, or a little after. I know the car we saw (Cooper) and (Diane) at first driving in is a 1966 Ford Galaxie (one of my hobbies, collecting, rebuilding, etc.). They never say their names when they first meet in the basement of the Great Northern, through the door, which then becomes something else. They just say, is it really you. The delays bother me. But they answer affirmatively. Maythrowaway notes that the motel at which they arrive is very, yrev 1966 (the motel at which "Diane" sees someone who looks exactly like her.
Is this Diane really Linda? Is this Cooper really Richard? I mean, he opened the basement door with the old key. After that point, were we not looking at Coop and Diane anymore?
Didn't that motel change after they stayed the night? Wasn't it single story when they arrived?

Yes. The motel changed as did the car he was driving.
any connection to the Michael Cera's character? It was written off as a quirk moment but considering how important Andy and Lucy ended up being, maybe their kid is some kind of time traveler entity of sorts. And his style was dated.
Hmm if it was around 1966 then perhaps the Tremonds were the owners of the house before the Palmers. Perhaps that is how that house became Lodge spirit infested. Did we ever know how long the Palmers owned the house?
