I just found these remarkable lyrics in the Chromatics song "Shadow" from Part 1:

Not only were Richard and Linda hinted at in part 1, but the long car scene also!
If we take these lyrics as some sort of reflection of or clue about what is going on, they lead to some interesting interpretations!
Don't forget the most important part of that song "For the last time... for the last time...[repeat]"
'I took your picture from the frame' also foreshadows a scene from ep 17, lol.

Actually, it was Part 2. Parts 1 & 2 were shown together as a double episode, and the Chromatics performance was at the end of the two part episode.

I like this. I've got all the music on a playlist and listen to it while I'm working. SO many parallels to the show.
I think Lynch sat down with the songwriters (Jewel, Vedder, Reznor) and explained certain parts of the show. NIN had their first song rejected as it was too Twin Peaksy - would like to hear that.
