I think Andy had Bad Coop pegged pretty quickly. The "would you like some coffee?" and "No, I'm good," confirmed it for him.
It looked like he did not remember at first but after Mr. C came inside and greeted Lucy, it looked like he did. I forget exactly how, but he indicates to Lucy that something's wrong. He continued to act happy when he offered C coffee and said he was going to get Hawk but that was an act.
Yeah, I couldn't tell if that was an act, or if he was sincere.
Regardless, I feel like he should have known the moment he clapped eyes on Mr. C that something was up.
The Fireman was probably face-palming at that moment.
Also, I don't remember seeing the scene where Andy positions Lucy (the bit he saw at the Fireman's). Was it in there somewhere?
I'm wondering if that scene isn't showing us the moment the Mr. C shows up, but maybe Andy drilling her beforehand on what to do and where to stand when it's "time." I'm only thinking this because he shouts "Very important! Very important!" At her before he runs down to the cell and then runs into Chad.
I can picture him doing that, walking her down the hallway, telling her she'll need the gun, explaining that it's "very important" she does this when... I don't know maybe when she knows there's two Coopers or something. Because he didn't have time to run up and position her, right? After she gets the call from Good Coop and she puts him on the line with Frank, is Andy still in the jail with the other guys?
Can someone please provide a reasonable explanation for Andy's behavior when Mr. C showed up? Because, right now, and at that moment, I'm thinking he's dumber than a box of rocks.
I mean, the Fireman showed Andy pretty much everything. The Experiment, Bob's entry into the world, the Woodsman, Naido and, most importantly, the two Coopers.
When Andy comes back with Naido in his arms, I'd assumed he'd remembered more than just what he said about Naido, but apparently not. Bad Cooper shows up and Andy is C-L-U-E-L-E-S-S. I was sighing in disbelief at that moment.
And, from what we've seen elsewhere, people seem to remember their meetings with the Fireman, so I've no idea why Andy doesn't.
Any thoughts?
I think it's a good thing that he initially forgot. If he had revealed any semblance of knowledge that he knew Mr C was not Coop, then he would've been gunned down instantly (like Frank should've been). He remembers just a bit later and doesn't reveal much to Mr C. So, it all worked out how the Fireman foresaw it would.
There is a shaky vision (it's a vision i guess!) occuring to Andy... in this vision Andy positions Lucy to a spot in a hallway, which is the exact point of Lucy shooting Mr C., if you look at the paintings on the hallway wall.
For me, I felt that as soon as Mr. C said he didn't want coffee, Andy's "Very important! Very important!" was actually code to Lucy. It's the only explanation (for me at least) as to why Lucy would have a gun ready. It's very likely that Andy told everyone about his experience to the best of his abilities, coupled with the realization that there may have been two Coopers once they opened the container Mrs. Briggs gave them.
I think Andy act a bit slowly because he saw the vision in Black & White 😉
