(Maybe it's all the sync episodes getting to me
but also considering that Wally Brando is in their circles.)
Anyone notice Ray Wise as Duke in Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories tonight?
(new episode, "The Duke" s2 e2)
Recalling, the story involves a scratch-ticket casino. With a lucky coin, Duke tricks a security guard into thinking Duke is his father
With some photo albums in his new room, the security boy finds out he's actually married to his 'mom,' who isn't his mom, because Duke is not his father. His mom is his wife that Duke stole.
But..... actually Duke just wants to use the security guy to win big on the father-son scratch ticket showdown, promising he'll leave him alone and well off if he wins, or leave if he loses. Duke's artificial son, who is a scratch ticket savant, wins the tournament by picking the right card and scratching the winning square with his dad's magic coin. He hits the jackpot,! His wife-mom says isn't it better this way and they live together as a family, the temporary arrangement now permanent. The security son gets a new toy with a racing game and VR capabilities for Christmas.
Followed by Decker, previously aired episode, "Double Decker" s2 e3 --
[sequential of this other series by 1/2 of the creators (Tim)]
[wikip. says previously aired June 18th,
concurrent with twin peaks s3 e7]
In it there is a Decker that is on trial for doing terrible things, nuclear and clearly him
His high rank gives him a chance to clear his name because the judges know him
He deduces a clone must have been bio-genetically engineered of him,
and that it must have been 'the'? government. In this case, London, for a joke to come..
Decker and his partner find Decker's double, his guess is spot on.
There's a chase scene with good Decker on a motorcycle and the other grabbing hold of a UK double decker bus, where they fight it out on the roof.
My recollection gets really choppy here, but I believe there was some detour
into a Scrooge's Tavern type place, where there was Scrooge that was telling a story
of a ghost visiting them from past; cue some footage of a video taped play from their past, clear with audience members in the frame. They return to the tavern, say that would make great movie, and go on their way before Scrooge can tell the ghost's tales.
I can't even make coherent sense of how I remember the rest, but maybe a portal back to the supreme court room, there's a whole unraveling explanation involving a General and I guess as this is a past episode, there's probably a synopsis online (versus the Bedtime Story "the Duke" with Ray Wise [Leland] which aired tonight).
Given that these s2e2 (future) and s2e3 (past) were aired back to back, the week after the finale double, just wanted to see if anyone else picked up on these possible parallel dimension waves~weewoowee. As the timelines rewrite and so forth, who knows where the actors are ending up, how the narrative spaces reverberate with witty stuff all tuned in to the same song across time whatever the station.
In the very least, this pair aired together tonight make brilliant fun with season 3 in mind.
Sorry so sloppy, it's my frost post here. Can I make a big ed it later
