Some thoughts I have-
1) Our Dale went back into the lodge with perfect courage and came out as hybridCoop. Diane knows that he is different, hence the intimacy scene where she can't look at him. This scene was back in time- instead of being r***d by bad Coop, she decides to leave hybrid Coop (and their travelling FBI aliases Richard and Linda behind). Further evidence of hybrid Coop: how he behaved in Judy's diner, and how he opened up "Laura's" car door.
2) The splice at the mountain. Log Lady, watch for the one under the moon on Blue Pine Mountain. The Dale we were happy to get back and hybrid Dale splice is here. These two Coopers can also be identified by different coloured pins? Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, our Dale has a silver pin while the hybrid has a silver and red (fire) pin.
3) We have a hybrid in order to defeat Judy- two birds, one stone.
4) Did you notice at 430,000miles the power lines were white?
5) Laura disappearing from black lodge while screaming (after she whispered in Cooper's ear) coincided with her disappearing from him in the woods (leading away from meeting with Ronette)
6) 7 knocks on Sarah Palmer's door- no answer, 6 knocks- an answer. What might have happened with eight knocks? I thought the meeting with Jefferies, the number 8,.... The dot moved from the left to the right, symbolizing an opening lock?
7) "Laura" hears Sarah calling her before she screams and the lights go out.
Your thoughts?
Bonus thoughts... "You are a tulpa" or "none of this is real" are what's whispered... To be revealed at the end of season four 😀
Wow, TwinPeaksFan: I just have to say, I think some of your ideas are brilliant.
Thank you 🙂
All great and well thought out and very possible. The Beaty of this is there are so many possibilities and I don't know if there is any right answer. Much like two people admiring a great piece of abstract art and coming up with two totally different interpretations .... I think the same is supposed to happen when viewing a lynch work of art.
I really like the notion of the hybrid Coop and want to go back and check those pins.
Judy is all of it. That was probably the biggest jawdropping moment for me--even more than the ending. So yeah, our little heroes, as great as Dale and Freddie and Hawk etc. are, (and Andy and dear dear Lucy with her true aim--girl has game) can't defeat it alone. The hybrid is a new thing, even with Agent Cooper's name.

I tried to find "Jowday" in a Google search but couldn't find anything. I will have to revisit the dossier and Nez Perce again... Or perhaps this will be in the final dossier.

And you're saying that only Diane was aware that he was hybrid Coop, since when he read her farewell note he didn't know who Richard and Linda were?

Yes, definitely good Coop intentions with nuances of Mr. C's monotonic stoicism.
I figure that Laura was yanked into the Lodge at 17 (no idea why) and then yanked out again at 42 (again, no idea why). And no idea why Leland would be in there if he hadn't killed her (unless it was hi doppelgänger). But he wasn't there when Sarah was going hari kari on the homecoming frame.
Brilliant analysis by you.

I was under the impression that they used those aliases and knew they were represented in those names. Like a Mr and Mrs Smith alias or Jane/ John Doe. I'm sure in their line of work they don't use their real names when checking into hotels/ motels while on assignment.

And was it Sarah calling or Waldo?

Thank you. I'm still trying to figure out the dual scene of Dale Cooper's face superimposed over the other scenes while time seems to have stopped. I was thinking that all future events from that moment represented only a moment in time but a long time travel in another dimension. Kind of like dreams can seem long but only last minutes in reality.
I would have to watch again to see whether the superimposed face of startle was just when seeing Naido or whether this was the same face when hearing what Laura whispered.

It did not appear Coop had any idea who richard was.... but is that because he was not Coop?? Hummmmm

---OK, but Cooper clearly didn't know what her note meant when he read it. He was puzzled by the names Richard and Linda--- Only Diane used those names - I think because they were in the new timeline which temporarily existed, but Cooper wasn't aware of that.
I too am really troubled by a "hybrid" Coop. My gosh, we just get the man back for about 30 minutes, and bam! He's back in the lodge, and re-emerges as da-da-da-DA! Hybrid Coop! He did kind of wierd me out when he told Diane to turn off the lights and come to his side of the bed. He sounded so authoritarian in that. I wondered if somehow Mr. C. had snuck back in. So that's why. There is a trace. Yuck. He's tainted our dear fellow. And even IF we're lucky enough to get a Season 4 or a movie, we still won't get our wonderful dearest Dale back. I'm so depressed, I'm going to bed.

Perhaps, looks like I need to watch it again ?
