Just a few thoughts.

Could the scene with the fireman at the beginning of the series actually be the last scene of the series (happening after the Laura scream on the street)? It goes dark on the street like in the Sheriff office. Possibly the time loop is over and he ends up back in the white lodge. Maybe when the fireman says "remember 430... Richard and Linda... Two birds with one stone" he is making sure that cooper "remembers" where he was just to so as to not make the same mistake and to remember his mission "two birds with one stone". He doesn't want him to get lost forever like Diane/Linda.

Also, 2:53 seems to be the time when either a new time loop begins or ends or both. It was 2:53 when all went dark in the sheriff station at the end when cooper said his goodbyes. The arm says "253 time and time again" maybe meaning different times that coop has attempted the time loop. How many times has he been through the time loop? Coop says something like "its 253, 10 completions". Does that means he's been through it 10 times?

Just some thoughts.

Yeah, i hear 257 as well. It's just that the time 2:53 seems like a common reoccurance through the show (purple room, briggs note, etc). 253 would make sense. I don't know what to think about 257. lol.
