The car they drove looked like something from the fifties.
That's pretty spooky.
I have been trying to figure out exactly where this 430 was supposed to be. Is it a MPM 430, if so, where? Or is it 430 miles from somewhere....if so WHERE? What am I missing?
We don't know if the counter was reset to zero before driving.
The goal was perhaps just waiting for the counter reaches "430 miles" while driving on a road with high-voltage lines on the side.
(I've quit few days ago to find the real location of this filming.
I was thinking that the place was in Mojave Desert.
In fact, this filming location is, one more time, in Palmdale area only 5 miles west from the Pearlblossom Motel one
This is the exact place where the car stopped, with the dusty road climbing to the pylons on the right:

It's a Ford Galaxie 1963.

It needs good eyes to watch the odometer :
OMG! I love that red interior!!!! Must have!

It wasn't a Galaxie. It's not that long and it didn't have that much chrome. It was a Falcon.
That's pretty spooky.

Is this a joke?
Maybe cooper had a smarter system to make his reference in, just like us here up north in Europe? 😀

What if it is? 😉

I know right. Why is the poster insinuating that we have no thumbs!

Sorry Sir.
Little chrome "wings", 4 headlights, 4 doors, different rear bumper than the Falcon...
It's a Galaxie 1963.
This is one of the best debates I have had the pleasure of watching in quite a while now. 🙂
I don't know. The falcon had wings too. Where's the body chrome on the galaxie on Cooper's car? You're right. The ass end looks better though. Maybe the Galaxie they got wasn't factory on the chrome.
