Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
I wonder why Cooper & co. are landing the jet in Spokane?
It takes a 4 hour drive from Spokane to Twin Peaks.
Instead the could land in Seattle, a 40 minute drive.... ?
I thought they were in a hurry!
There have been inconsistencies in the overall story regarding the location of Twin Peaks. In the Return it's placed in Northeast Washington and Spokane probably is the closest city to it.
TP is supposed to be situated in the very north eastern corner of the state, around Colville Reservation I guess. We saw that when Diane(?) looked up the coordinates on her phone.
Spokane is the closest larger city to that area.
Snoqualmie and North Bend, which is the real life backdrop, is closer to Seattle.
What they said.
However, there IS a landing strip in TP. It's where Wheeler landed. But that would likely announce their arrival. Thus Spokane seems a safe alternative.
Cooper's first words, in the Pilot: "Diane, 7:30 am, February twenty-fourth. Entering the town of Twin Peaks. Five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line."
TP has to be close enough to Canada that you can take a small boat to One Eyed Jack's, and far enough east that Ronette crossed the Washington/Idaho state line when she walked over the bridge.
I'm guessing is because they don't have permission to land whenever they want.
Maybe they want to meet Sam Stanley who's in Spokane
I 'm working on something that I wll post soon. But it doesn't make sense to create another thread with the same theme... so
Near Spokane County is Lincoln County... I been saying that in this season they have used a lot of references to Lincoln**... so for me is not a surprise that he MAYBE has to do something there first, and then go straight foward to Twin Peaks at Oct 2. He woke up Oct1 at 2:53pm... remember the watch of the American Girl when he goes thru the "3" outlet?
**about Lincoln in this S3**
-Got a Light guy does Lincoln impersonation
-a lot of Lincoln cars FBI, MrC, Mitchums Limo, and I bet that Cooper will drive one...
-The girl-bug found a penny with Lincoln face
-The theory that Lincoln had premonitory dreams about his own dead...
-and maybe I forgot something else, but I can't find my notes...
So.. what is in Lincon County? First I see that the City of Davenport (like Ruth) is the most populated... but then I dont found nothing interesting... look for something in the other cities and Towns... nothing
Then I found the city of Odessa. Whats up with that?
Odessa is the female of Odyseus/Ulises. (mmmm ok.......)
He was the king of Itaca, and he left from there for 20 years (10 years during the Troy war, and 10 years for the return) Odysseus is probably best known as the eponymous hero of the Odyssey. This epic describes his travails, as he tries to return home after the Trojan War and reassert his place as rightful king of Ithaca. Odysseus is characterized in the Homeric poems by its brilliance, astuteness and the versatility of its character.
So... Sounds like Cooper... an his Odyssey...
What he would do there? I don't have any idea....
What about the name Odessa? I found this....
Sweetness and fragility emanate from the charming Odessa. Female to the bone, it is pleasant, conciliatory and particularly sensitive. # 9 is her number. The number 9 is ruled by Mars (remember Chantall pointing and saying "look Mars!", and remember the red circle in Briggs note to Bobby?), the planet of fire and heat, and this makes those who have this number in numerology very restless and very active. The influence of Mars gives them an unstable nature: they easily fall into provocation and explode. They have a very strong defense system, and they are always in a state of alert, which can create enemies.
... this sounds like Laura.... and the Link with the #9 of the bar where Sarah took of her face... something is cooking here...
I think that something about the clues from the Fireman (430, Richar&Linda....etc) or something about Laura, is gonna happen in that Odyssey to Spokane-Twin Peaks.... with a stop in Lincoln County....
Ok, but why do you have them driving from Spokane to Seattle? Isn't Cooper heading to Twin Peaks which would be North of Spokane? Nothing that interesting happens in Seattle.

TP is a fictitious city, I do not know where it is located .... so circle the approximate area .... TP is east of Seattle

Yes, of course it's fictitious. However, it is clearly stated in the very beginning of it all that it is NE WA, a few miles south of Canadian border, a few miles west of Idaho border. (I don't remember how many a "few" is supposed to be so I don't want to misquote it).
Also, not 100% sure on this, but didn't we see an "approx" location recently on somebodies GPS as they were looking at the infamous coordinates?
This one has all the locations....
Then let's say that the trip to the west side of the state is wrong . my mistake.... Cooper dont do the "car trip" to the west... they just shoot everything there, but the city is located to the northeast of the state .... Ok ... but that mistake (I think) led to some "info" that can work ....
Looking forward to the new "info."
TP wiki says:
"The geography is confusing, perhaps deliberately so; Cooper says in the Pilot that Teresa Banks' body was found "in a town in the Southwest corner of this state", where Twin Peaks is in the Northwest corner ("...five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line"). This is consistent with Chester Desmond flying into Portland, Oregon in Fire Walk with Me. However, The Secret History of Twin Peaks, while affirming that Deer Meadow is in Washington, also says that Deer Meadow is "one county to the west" of Twin Peaks, calling it a "nearby community".
so... can Twin Peaks be some kind of Dutchman's place? If it's all a dream, and the dreamer stop dreaming... can Twin Peaks dissapear? "You never wanna know about that" says Hawk about that "mother" Symbol... what happen if that symbol represent the end of the dream... Twin Peaks falling apart in some kind of black hole and dissapearing like the convenience store...
