Diane, 11:30 PM, August 31. There's just two hours of Twin Peaks left and I still have a ton of questions.
For instance, I don't understand the whole Briggs-corpse-situation and how did the ring ended up in his stomach. The ring that Janey-E gave to Dougie.
I also don't get why the Arm has a doppelgänger. I though he was evil, so why does he have like an "evil twin"?
Who's Judy? How's Annie? So many questions, fellas...
I wouldn't be surprised at all if we never find out about Becky and Steven--and maybe never see Norma, Ed, or Shelly again.
-Norma and Ed are finally together. (Dr. Amp's role this season was to inspire Nadine to shovel out and let Ed go free.) All wrapped up.
-Shelly is gaga for another bad boy, Red. Bobby changed and went straight, so she tired of him and went for the next bad boy archetype in town. Perhaps she's in an unbreakable loop on that front; if so, it's all wrapped up.
-Did Steven kill Becky?? It could be left as a mystery, cuz we might wonder, forever, at what point in the Double RR narrative's timeline did the final Steven/Gersten scene actually happen?
So I'd be ok leaving that all behind. But I wouldn't mind seeing Ed again. With the Bookhouse Boys. In a melee versus the woodsmen.
But I definitely wanna see Carl Rodd again!!! Though we've already confirmed beyond doubt that he brings a heart of gold to Twin Peaks. (Hmm, maybe that Linda will be important?)

I think when Mr C (or someone he hired) killed Maj Briggs, the ring was put in his stomach to trigger Diane if she were ever called in by the FBI.
Mr C did leave behind Cooper prints, with one backwards. So maybe he wanted the FBI called in and planned them to call on Diane. If ANY of the hitmen sent killed Cooper, and then Diane was triggered by the ring, she would've directed the FBI to The Dougie tulpa. They could mistake him for criminal Cooper, like maybe the billionaire went into "hiding" as Douglas Jones. But he'd be dead now, Briggs' murder suspect already murdered by hitmen. And it would make sense to find a billionaire criminal in hiding already hit by hitmen. The FBI's Cooper/Briggs case might be closed with that. ????
i worked a while on that thought, but it's still kinda half-baked.
Ok, we only have two episodes left and, while the pace has picked-up somewhat, it's still Twin Peaks, so things move kind of slow (we were treated to two minutes of Audrey just shuffling around a room in Part 16).
So.... time to be real.... who and what do you think will not be addressed by the end?
Hi Matthew,
Remember that thread a couple of Parts ago about the "99+ Geese"? About 92 of those will not be addressed. Which ones?
Pick 'em. 😉

I don't think we are going to have the Buckhorn mysteries of the meat in Hastings' car or the human nature of his wife explained.
Showtime don't give permission to David Lynch, he has had full creative control over this project. That was the deal.
I am expecting everything to be disregarded. Or inverted, in some way.
If you think showtime didn't know the ending and approve of it before cutting a check, you're nuts.
Okay so I was thinking about that stupid puke question again and I realized that never has to be addressed in the show because we will probably get to read a toxicology report in the Final Dossier that's coming out. I'm betting there will be a bunch of little things you can figure out the answers to through newspaper clippings, police reports, things like that. Maybe 1-1-9 mom will get booked and we'll find out what happened to her kid, etc. That may not be super satisfying to everyone but I'm good with that for some of the little nagging details. The warden is dead now, I'm sure that's a perfect opportunity to publish some evidence he's journaled or squirreled away about Mr. Strawberry or what have you.
I suppose both 17 and 18 could be mostly action and narrative that coughs up some real answers. But I suspect that a significant portion of the finale may be image-laden in the style of Part 8. If so, this means we will be here for at least a couple of weeks collectively figuring out what we saw, what happened, and what was resolved (if anything ).
Lynch has his master tropes, but I think he lets his viewers write the story themselves. We are the dreamers and we weave the text without knowing the author's intent.
Not sure Showtime would countenance another foray into surrealistic cinema for an entirety of an episode like they did in Ep. 8 -- I think they gave Lynch his one episode to "play" with
They gave him the whole series to play with - they didn't interfere with him, unlike the last network.

Mr C didn't intend to get incarcerated though. Only to go there and blackmail the Warden so he could get Ray out.

Whatever.
